The Gift of Magi

It was a week before their 25th marriage anniversary. Arnav Singh Raizada, once a rich man and one of the richest in the world, is now in his late sixties and lives in poverty. Poverty? No! He is, still, the richest man in the world, until and unless his wife, his soulmate, Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada is with him.

He was pacing around the room. "What should I gift Khushi this year? It has to be more special than, the previous years. What can I give her? Let me check my cupboard."
He checks his cupboard. All he could find is a change of five rupees. He opens his wallet his kurta packet and sees an old and torn ten rupees note.

"What can I give her with this money?", sighs Arnav and sits on his folding chair which is nearby.

Arnav Singh Raizada, only once experienced what is poverty. That is when his Chacha threw him and his sister out of Sheesh Mahal. He promised himself that he will show the world, who is he and true to his promise, and he became the richest person in the world. Then, after meeting his world changed. From, arrogant and cruel ASR, he became Arnav to Khushi who tamed him with her love.

She was selfless, loving, caring and honest. Never once in these 25 years of their marriage, had he seen her angry, rude. Even when he doubted her having an affair with his jeejaji, Shyam. She forgave him and even rescued him when he was kidnapped. He hurt her,even after that, by telling her that she was the reason for all the wrongs in his di's life. She still forgave him. He didn't deserve such an angel. Their remarriage!! She proved her love was true and waited for him at the altar.

She was the angel sent by his mom from the heavens.

Khushi tells him that they are going to be parents. Doctors, informing them about her carrying twin boys. The delivery day. The baby naming ceremony. The first day of school for their kids. Their kids, going abroad for higher studies. After returning about their love and how Arnav and Khushi accepted them and did their marriage.
How their daughter-in-laws started fighting! How they poisoned their son's mind and divided the property! How Arnav and Khushi became a burden for their children! How they were sent to an orphanage!

Everything, everything was running before his eyes. His eyes are wet, he didn't realise it until he felt a hand wiping his tears.

"What happened Arnavji?", said Khushi who was standing before him with her walking stick.

"Nothing darling. Just remembering how we were together? It's going to be 25 years marking our togetherness in one week."

"How fast the time went by?"

"Yes, I never knew the time going because you were with me, darling."

He embraced a blushing Khushi which makes her look like a newly wed bride. Can anybody believe if they say that they are completing 25 years of their marriage?

After a night of thinking, Arnav decided to get a silver Devi Maiya idol for Khushi. He has six days' time so, he can earn the amount and get her the idol as a gift.
So, he started job hunting the next day but nobody gave him the job owing to the fact that he is an old man. He tried at many places for the next five days but never got the job.

A day before, he was depressed as he couldn't afford to get money for gifting Khushi.

He saw the time from his watch and came to know only four hours left before their silvery jubilee Anniversary.

"What should I do? Only four hours left. I have to gift Khushi."

An idea lit up his brain.
