IZZY'S POV

"What about you Izzy? Had a bad guy or two?"

"One too many I'd say. My last proper boyfriend, Dean, was lovely and gorgeous, but he was dedicated to his work and never seemed to have time for me. We'd go to sleep next to each other and then I'd wake up on my own. He'd leave a scrappy piece of paper on my desk saying he was going to the other side of the earth with his brother, it was ridiculous! He used to be on the road for days or weeks with not so much as a text message to tell me he was alive. Eventually he told me that his job was too dangerous for him to be close to people and that being with him was putting my life in danger"

"What did he do?" John asked

"I don't even know! Hunting maybe, something like that. But he considered himself married to his job, like Sherlock I suppose"

"Don't compare him to me" Sherlock said.

Oops. I didn't realise he was listening

"He sounds like such an ordinary, boring...human! I would never do that" Then, under his breath "if you were mine, I'd treat you so much better than that. Unlike this Dean guy, I know stuff"

I scoffed "Yeah? About women?"

"Yes" he said offended

"I've worked on cases with women and couples and I've learned what works and what doesn't, the do's and don't's. So yes, I do know quite a lot about women"

John got up and announced he was going in the shower. Telling us both to be civilised while he was gone.

John shut the door and left us in an awkward silence. I picked up my phone and started scrolling through nothing, trying to look preoccupied.

"I meant it you know, what I said before"

Wow, that's a big thing for Sherlock, talking about his feelings

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, I would treat you better than Dean if you were mine, not that you ever would be. I'll stop being ridiculous"

I smiled at him.

"What makes you so sure about that?"

"What? You're actually considering it?"

"Erm... No"

"Yes you are. I can tell. Your face has changed. You look uncomfortable-"

"Sherlock?"

"Yes?"

"Stop. You've ruined it. I don't think you realised but we were having a little 'moment' there and you ruined it with your stupid deductions. No wonder people call you a psychopath!"

I saw the look on his face but I was glad to get that off my chest.

He put his head down in shame.

"I'm sorry" he whispered

"It's okay" I replied "I am too"

I got up and walked over to his chair and rested on the arm

"Sherlock? It's okay" I assured him

His big, round eyes looked up at me like a child

"You're sure?"

"Yes of course I'm sure!"

I laughed and surprisingly so did he.

HARPER'S POV

When I turned around, he was gone. Great. I thought he'd stay when he was the one who had followed me here. Oh well, his loss. I went upstairs with the intent of ordering a takeaway but was shocked to see him looking through my belongings.
