A lot of things come in sevens.
The deadly sins.
The days of the week.
The Harry Potter Book series
The notes in a major or minor scale
The number of pillars in the House of Wisdom
The number of games in the World Series in baseball
The number of major stars in the Bug Dipper constellation
The colors of the Newton rainbow
The dwarfs in Snow White
The wonders of the world
The seas
The continents
Words you cannot say on television
The stages of griefThe stages of grief...
Shock
"What? They're gone?"
Denial
"No. No. They aren't gone. This is a bad dream. I'll wake up and they'll be next to me."
Bargaining
"Take me instead of them. Please."
Guilt
"It's all my fault that they're dead."
Anger
"Bring them back! I hate that they're gone! I hate you!"
Depression
"They're gone. I can't eat. I can't sleep. I can't shower. I can't function."
Acceptance
"They're gone. I'll be okay. It's not my fault. I can't do anything."Sometimes, you skip one or two stages. Sometimes you go through one faster than another. Sometimes, it takes you weeks or months to get through one stage. Sometimes, it takes days.
Grief takes time.
