Chapter 3

Sorry you had to wait so long for the update. I've been pretty caught up with my school work,the state tests, and graduation. But here it is now.

"So tell about yourself and about how you and Cody met." Leati said.

I sighed. "Well we were next door neighbors and we were in the same class in Pre-k. On the first day of school I had a see through lunch bag so you could practically see what I was going to eat. I had 2 packs of brownies and Cody was eyeing me and my bag. I walked past him and he tripped me. I started to cry and then he came by my side and helped me up. He was all like 'I'm so sorry. I was going to trying to shake out my leg.' He offered to take me to take me to the nurse and I let him lead the way. We get to the office and he waited with me until I got called in. When I got inside, the nurse asked what happened? And Cody was like, Ohhh she looked at me and said I was cute and then when she walked by me she fell."

At that point, Leati was laughing so hard, he had tears coming out of his eyes. Since he was laughing so hard, it started to make me laugh, and everyone in the coffee shop had their eyes on us. I didn't get what was so funny but Leati's laugh was just funny.

"Oh....My....God... that sounds....like so much.... like Cody." he said in between laughs.

I shrugged my shoulders and smiled at the thought of Cody. "Yeah, he always thought he was so "Dashing"." Even though he still is. I thought.

"So you still like Cody?" I heard Leati mumble under his breath and he put his head down.

I cleared my throat. "Umm, did I say that out loud? And no I don't." I lied, but I had to hide the pain and hurt, so I did it with a smile.

He slowly picked up his head and smiled back at me. "Umm... I was wondering if you... uhh..... needed help trying to come up with the costume?"

"Yeah, that would be nice. You can come to my place." I wrote my address on a napkin along with my phone number. "Here." I said handing him the piece of tissue.

He quickly looked at it. "Thanks, what time should I be there?"

I looked at my watch seeing it's already 4:30. "How does seven o'clock sound?" I asked him.

It took him a minute to finally give me an answer. "Sure."

"Well, I should get going." I said, getting my stuff together.

Leati got up and stuck out his hand for me to shake.

We traded our "goodbyes."

I walked out the cafe.

Now, the ride back to my house...
