**Flashback**
(Miriam's P.O.V)
Cody and I were playing in the pool at my house. I don't know if I should tell him I was leaving and how I felt. I've had a crush on him since the first grade, but I never told him. He was my only friend and he always stuck by my side. Thinking about it made me frown, but I didn't realize Cody noticed. I put my head down and started making little splashes. He moved closer to me and tilted my head up.
"What's wrong?" he asks me. I tried to think of a lie, but I just couldn't with those beautiful blue eyes looking into my eyes.
"My mom and dad are getting divorced and I'm leaving the state with my mother. I'm going to miss living in Georgia." My vision was starting to blur as the tears in my eyes started to form. "And I don't want to leave because I-I-I..." Then, I stopped. A tear came out my eye.
Cody wiped the tear and pulled me into a light embrace. He pulls himself away his hands still on my shoulder, he looks into my eyes again. "You what? Please tell me." I took a deep breath.
"I-I-I LOVE YOU, CODES! But I know I'm not pretty enough for you." I pulled away from him and swam to the ladder and got out of the pool. I sat on the deck with my feet only in the water. I started to cry, then I feel a hand pull my own away from my face. I opened my eyes and see Cody. He takes my hands and kisses them. I blushed hoping he wouldn't notice. I put my head down and then Cody picks my head up and kisses me on the cheek.
"I never thought of you pretty... I always thought you were beautiful. I love you too." Cody's voice sounded so soft. My mouth dropped. I never thought Cody would ever say that. Cody pulls me into another hug. "Miriam don't worry about it, one day we will be reunited and we could be together forever. Don't ever forget that."
And then Cody kissed me.
