Out of all the days of the week, I never really bothered to acknowledge Tuesday's.
To me they've always just been there.
It's always been apart of the week that I would dread less than Monday, or I would ignore because of my impatience for Friday.
So I found myself relieved and irritated, relieved because I had extra time to do homework and relax. Irritated because I didn't know how to cherish that time off without stressing out about nothing.
I was sitting on my trampoline in my backyard that was located somewhere in the middle of a forest by my house. Earbuds plugged in listening to a foreign song that's lyrics and words were unrecognizable.
But for some reason I found the music comforting, even though I didn't understand the message or the lyrics.
As I was laying down just me and the music with my eyes taking in the evening around me, enjoying dark night sky with the tiny evanescent stars that peep out around the tops of Pine and Aspen trees every once in a while.
Eyes gazing over the night sky taking in all the beauty of the sky and its shining stars, there was a sudden unusual light beaming out of the corner of my eye.
My eyes flew over to its source only to see light growing rapidly from the edges of the sky.
Bright beaming yellow light pored over the sky.
The airs warmth quickly turned from comfortably warm, to scolding hot, its brightness became blinding.
I quickly rolled over the edge of the trampoline jumped off and looked for anyplace away from that painfully hot light.
As soon as my feet touched the ground I crawled quickly underneath the trampoline.
After about thirty seconds I dared to look up to see that the sky was engulfed almost entirely in the beaming light. I could see a hole in the sky where the light never touched, But the brightness around it made it almost impossible to look at any longer.
My skin began to burn and the air that filled my lungs was scorching.
It felt as if I was dumped into boiling water and there was no escape from it.
In that moment I shrieked out for my parents.
I wanted it all to stop.
Curled up into a ball with tears beginning to stream down my face.
Hearing the shrieks of all the startled birds and animals around me.
I began to hear the mighty trees around me cracking and falling under the heat and pressure.
I covered my ears not wanting to hear that bone crunching sound that haunted my memories.
I sat waiting for the end to come.
Then it just suddenly stoped...
The burning light decimated completely.
It was night again.
My eyes began to adjust from the sudden burst of light.
I crawled out from underneath the trampoline and looked over to see my phone with the earbuds still attached.
I quickly grabbed it and unplugged the earbuds.
Then I looked up and realized that the humidity was gone, and some faint wisps of clouds appeared in the sky.
The stars have never shined so bright before.
For a moment my eyes were encapsulated in sky's dancing bright stars.
It was as if someone had peeled away a foggy screen in the sky to reveal an new foreign sky with stars that were so much brighter that I didn't recognize them.
As my eyes grazed over this new sky I couldn't find the moon that was shining over me just a minute ago.
I snapped back to reality and processed what had just happened.
The only reason why I could see anything was because of the stars new brightness shining above me.
I sprinted back to my house through a small unkept rocky trail that was covered in a few new fallen trees and tree roots with some rocks scattered here and there. Every once in a while I would spot some shy wild flowers scattered around the trail, hidden by over growing grass.
As soon as I arrived to the back door I could hear my mother from across the house upstairs shouting my name hysterically.
When I got to the house I saw that all the power was out in it. I could only see the faint silhouettes of all the objects around me.
"Mom, Dad I'm here!"
"Where were you young lady! You know that you weren't supposed to be out at night!" She yelled from the top of the staircase while running down. In a strict tone with a hint of panic and worry behind it.
My dad came into the room from upstairs in a panicked manner.
Once down the stairs he rubbed out the sleep in his eye, then an expression of worry and fear washed over his face.
My mom and dad shared a sickly worried expressions and told me to sit on the couch, then they walked into the kitchen.
As they were talking I tried to listen to there faint whispers but I couldn't hear anything.
So I pulled out my phone to call anybody to see if anyone knew anything about what had just happened.
As I was looking through my contacts I looked up in the corner of my phone and realized that there was no wifi.
"Crap." I whisper under my breath.
Then my parents walked into the living room.
"Do you have service on your phone?" My mom asked me worriedly with a hint of anxiousness in her voice and impatience.
We all shook out heads.
"Well then we have to drive."
We all rushed to our rooms to grab some items. I knew that we would be gone for a while so I grabbed some carry on clothes and began to change out of my pajamas.
I looked over to the corner of my dresser and saw my point and shoot camera.
Once I was dressed I went over and grabbed it.
As I held it in my hands, I quickly recalled all the memories I had lived with my family, and the other memories that I had shared with friends.
It had always helped me, that little point and shoot camera.
All I had to do was look through the frozen memories and recall all that had happened around the time those picture were taken.
The people that were taken in those memories would always remain the same in those frozen moments captured by that tiny camera, but how they are now had changed from the people they used to be those pictures.
There were some people that would come and go from my life.
All I had now were pictures that held memories, and all I could do was imagine how those strangers whom I used to call friends lives were now that we stoped talking to each other, even if I had found a way to talk to them again we were only strangers who had shared a few memories.
I quickly grabbed some other things and a emergency kit to put in my purse for if someone needed medical assistance, then sprinted downstairs to get to the car.
As we we're pulling out we immediately ran into traffic.
Everyone else was driving out as well to see if the people they loved were safe too.
I looked down at my shaky hands where the little point and shoot camera was resting.
Then my mom suddenly jerked the car.
I immediately looked up to see what had caused my mom to jerk the car so unexpectedly.
Her jaw was clenched tight and her knuckles were white from gripping the steering wheel. I looked in the rear view mirror to see my mothers face, I could immediately see her terror filled eyes that began to start tearing up.
Then I looked around to see what could have startled her so badly.
Then my eyes fell onto the rubble that used to be a house. Then I saw a couple of other houses in he neighborhood had fallen down as well because of the gravitys sudden fluctuation that had happened earlier.
I could see that she was shaking uncontrollably in fear of what had just happened and what she was seeing.
My dad placed his hand on her knee in an attempt to help calm her nerves then said.
"I'm sure the family is safe. They live in a new house that is built to take something like this,We're doing okay, so I'm sure they are safe as well and are worrying about us too."
As he said this I could hear the shakiness in his voice.
I exhaled sharply and then bit my tongue to try and stop the panicked tears that were threatening to spill from my eyes as we were passing the destroyed houses.
Although my father was probably right that the family was safe. My brain couldn't help but to play out the most terrifying scenarios over and over.
It felt as if the car was driving over glue we were driving so slowly.
The traffic was causing a huge back up in the streets.
Some cars were parked on the side of the road to help search through rubble of those who might have survived having there houses fall on them.
The destroyed houses were passing in front of me so slowly.
I had to tilt my head in shame because I couldn't let myself help them, not until I saw that my family was safe.
The only thing keeping me from jumping out of the car to go and see if anyone else needed help was that there were so many other people helping search through the rubble of the fallen houses.
The traffic sped up a little.
As time wore on we finally round the corner of the street my aunt and uncles house was on.
I saw that there houses were intact.
A huge wave of relief came over all of us in the car.
We pulled in the driveway and sprinted to the front door.
The door was already unlocked.
We ran inside and immediately shouted out there names.
As my parents were looking through the rest of the house I walked into the living room and looked outside into there back yard.
It was a very vast land that was covered in fruit and pecan trees and some others I couldn't name.
Then through the darkness I couldn't spot a thing.
Then suddenly I heard my uncles voice shout out for help from a distance.
"Mom! Dad! They are out back!".
