- Before I start I want to say this story is based on a true event. - Hope you enjoy -Also this is Carina's POV in this story.
It's Two o'clock in the morning during my summer break. Not even tired at this hour, just my luck. But I need to get up early at a decent time before the kids so mom doesn't have to , since she needs a break. Thankfully I fell asleep sooner than later. Waking up groggy and just wanting to go back to sleep. Told myself I need to wake up, but remembered why I was waking up early. That mom needed a break.
Got up, started stretching while walking to the kitchen. Saw my mom cooking breakfast, went up to her thinking that I needed to tell her something. But half way walking in the kitchen I started to get dizzy but thought nothing about since it happens from time to time when i stretch anyways when I wake up. Thinking to myself, "Ugh why am I so dizzy." Finally got close enough to mom, then somehow felt as if i had a really bad hangover or something similar. Was really unstable, trying to keep my balance. But felt like I was moving back and forth.
Then it somehow went pitch black, didn't see anything. Heard my mom scream as loud as she could. Got grandmas attention quickly, and mom told her to get the phone. Heard her rushing to get the phone. Couple seconds later I heard smaller footsteps heading towards, was able to open my eyes as much as I could. It was blurry but was able to make out what I was seeing. While I was able to open my eyes, I felt one of the girls that spent the night touched my shoulder. Very soft touch, and I knew it was the youngest one touching my shoulder. I tried to focused on her, she looked as if she was trying to tell me something. Then started to pay attention what mom and grandma were saying to the person on the phone. Overheard that the ambulance was it's way to the house.
So mom helped me get up and was able to sit on one of the chairs in the kitchen. Still didn't have a lot of balance. When I got to sit in the chair, it was hard to keep up in the chair. Felt as if I didn't know how to sit up or do some of the things. I couldn't keep my head up, felt like I had no control. Just to watch everything, and could tell my mouth was very dry. Kept trying to keep my mouth not as dry as it was. But wasn't working.
First car to pull up was a officer in his police car, so the officer came into the house wondering what exactly happened. So he stayed for a bit, then came the ambulance finally. The officer got out of the way, when the these two guys walked in with bags. Both seemed around my parent's age, and one of them asked me a question. I tried to talk a bit clearly, my voice sounded a bit shaken. Mom told part what she witnessed, then I told how i felt and what happened. Both guys were asking about information about me, and while doing that I was trying to get my mouth to be less dry. My mouth was so dry, it felt like i didn't drink anything for a long time. One of them was taking my blood and while looking at my face he said, "are you okay, cause your lips are a grayish color" I touched my lips after the guy said that. My lips were dry, then it dawned on me that it could also be cause my mouth is dry.
Then the guys asked my mom if I needed to go to the hospital, she agreed since this has never happened to me before. My chest felt heavy, as if it felt like it was sinking in. Started to breathe heavy when the guys wanted me to try to move. To see if I could make it outside to the gurney and the ambulance. Walked with the guys holding each arm just in case I fell, and I tried not to breathe heavy but couldn't control it. One of the guys said, "you okay there?" shook my head no then said slowly, "I can't breathe." While gasping cause it was getting hard to. One of them let go one of my arms very slowly then sped a little bit faster to get the oxygen tube ready for me. Once I was on the gurney, they put the oxygen tube on me. After a couple times of inhaling with the oxygen tube on me I started to feel a bit better. Having it on my face felt funny and a bit cold, and mom was following behind the ambulance while heading to the hospital. Just thinking this was a dream, but it wasn't. Everyone around me was scared, but I was just in shock that this happened.
