After the day on which you ran out in search for Tomoko Kuroki, somehow, you ended becoming friends. You'd finally gotten to learn her first name, and you even wrote it on the back of one of your notebooks to never forget about it, and to have it as a somewhat fond memory of that day. You were happy to have made a new friend, and that Tomoko opened up to you more.
Back at the park bench, she explained to you that she was planning to go back home, as the day hadn't been too friendly with her. During your last lecture before lunchtime, one of her classmates had managed to strike up a conversation with her, yet as she was beginning to grow warmer to them, they ditched her the moment another person sat next to her.
With that small incident watering down her day, she'd gone over to the rooftop of the school, which was surprisingly open and accessible to all of the students. Due to the early hour, it was still empty, as she decided it would be nice to have her lunch there. She settled herself on the rooftop, and sat down on the floor with her meal.
However, a young couple suddenly burst through the door, these two making out more intensely as seconds passed. Once the couple caught sight of her, they stood still in shock, and after an awkward silence, they yelled at her to leave. Rather angry with the way they treated her, she clenched her fist and gritted her teeth, trying to calm the unusual anger she felt.
After her first year of highschool came to an end, and as her sixteenth birthday finally came around, she tried to be stronger. She wanted to defend herself, and at that moment, she did. Without any more hesitation, she told them: "You should be the ones to leave! You were the assholes that suddenly came here making out!"
The couple, not too fond of her choice of words, walked closer towards her, as one of them took her backpack away from her, and threatened her about it falling down the three-story building. In the spur of the moment, she continued to protest against them, causing for her bag to be thrown away. She watched in horror as it fell down to the ground with a faint thud, and remembered one of her most valued anime figurines was still inside the bag.
As if that hadn't been enough, the couple threw the remaining contents of her lunch over her clothes, leaving her without any other possessions. Her hands were empty, and she promptly gave up on her rage. She walked out of the scene with her feet being dragged along, as she reluctantly made her way to the place the backpack had been thrown off to.
After that lengthy confession, you offered her some calming words, and tried to cheer her up by taking her to the inside of the park. Once there, you both watched how various owners and their pets played around in the grass. You ended up playing Frisbee toss with one of the many puppies that were around, and urged for her to join in. The two of you were able to spend a good three hours together that day, with the little dog keeping you company.
Currently, it was lunchtime again, and you were at the classroom, sitting on a desk next to Tomoko's. You were both talking about the latest anime show that'd been released on RollCrunchy, and were sharing lunch alongside her. You occasionally shifted in your seat, as you had something in mind that you wished to share with the girl next to you.
"Err. . . Kuroki. . ." You mumbled, after taking a sip from your water bottle. "I was wondering if I could show you something."
"U- Uh. . . Sure, (Y/N)." The dark-haired responded, in a rather awkward manner. "What's up?"
"I just wanted to give you this. . .",You spoke, this time taking a small box out if your backpack, whilst handing the item over to where she stood.
Tomoko hesitantly reached out for the box, and once it was in her hands, she thought twice over whether she should open it or not.
As friendly as you were to her, she wasn't one to trust that quickly, even more now that the whole incident at the rooftop had occurred. Almost two months had passed since that day, yet she couldn't get these worries out of her mind. She wanted to go farther with the friendship you currently shared, though the memories of the couple made her back away from these thoughts.
Finally opening the box, her eyes widened once seeing its contents. On the inside was a figurine of the very same kind she'd lost due to the three-story fall of her backpack. She took the figurine in her shaky hands, as she suddenly tackled you into a hug.
"Thank you!" She exclaimed, with her arms now squeezing your back tightly.
The hug lasted for a couple of seconds, until you returned the girl's gesture with affection. Seeing her this joyful made for a smile to take over your face, as she finally let go of the hug.
"This is awesome! I didn't think they still sold these." Tomoko spoke once more, with a faint smile, and bright eyes made visible over her features. "Wh- Where did you even get this?!"
"I. . ." You trailed off, as a sudden idea came through your mind. "Maybe I can show you instead!"
"What do you mean?" She asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"I bought that someplace close to where I live. . ." You explained, while an excited smile began to appear on your face. "What do you think. . . Would you like to go there with me tomorrow?"
"T- Tomorrow?!" She exclaimed, take aback by the quick invitation you'd made for her.
"Yeah! Tomorrow's Saturday. . . And that place's usually open on weekends! Do you want to go with me?"
Tomoko stayed silent for a moment, as she gave thought to the pros and cons of the situation. The last time she'd adventured somewhere far away from her home, she'd quickly ended up looking for a way to get back, and she didn't want that to happen if you were to be at her side. Though, with the pros being stronger points, she accepted the offer, as you nodded in a contained excitement to her approval.
"I'll go look for you at your home, then!" You declared, with a brighter smile taking over your face.
