It was early the next morning. I'd say at least three in the morning if I didn't know any better. The last thing I remembered was being in the back of the car, on the voyage home from the beach. Now I looked down at myself, I was dressed in clothes that clearly weren't mine. And I was laying down in someone else's bed. The scent on the sheets smelled familiar though. It hit me.
I was in Grayson's bed. In Grayson's clothes. I took a look at my surroundings and saw him across the room and the extra bed they had, on his phone. I opened my mouth to speak, nothing coming out at first. I coughed up my words, my voice groggy. "Gray?" I prodded at, expecting a response. "Hey sleepy" he called out from the other side of the room, seeming so far away. "How did I get here and how did I get dressed?" I wondered, curious of my current situation. He coughed, clearing his congested throat. "I uh carried you in from the car, and then kinda undressed you and dressed you back in some of your.. lingerie and my clothes" he said, clearly embarrassed. I couldn't believe it but then again I could. It was out of an act of kindness though so I couldn't complain. "I swear I saw nothing." He told me, telling the truth like he always did. "Alright Grayson, I believe you but just know that none of this gets out to anyone, hear me?" I said, stern. He agreed and let me fall back asleep with ease. Just the fact that Grayson had laid his hands on me differently than he normally did made me feel tingly inside. It was a nice feeling.
Grayson kept his mouth shut for about a week now. We never touched base on the topic again, but the tension was clearly there. The Tuesday after this happened, one of the boys' friends came to hang out. He was a nice guy I could tell. The boys never had terrible friends, so this was expected. He hung around for a few hours and as he was on his way out the door I stopped him to tell him something I came up with. We stepped outside the apartment and I spilled the details. Basically I had determined that after a week I wanted to live here. Badly. His friend and I made a deal. We would take off early tomrorow morning, saying we'd only go hang for a bit. In reality we were going to settle a deal on my soon to be apartment and we were going to fly out to Dallas and pack my life up, moving me out to the City of Angels. And when we got back, I'd go over and prank them, telling them I hated it here and wanted to leave, only to surprise them and say I had already moved.
He left by now, and I got myself ready to go. The next morning I was up at 8:30, and in a half and hour their friend would be back over. He came over, explained to the twins we would be out for a few hours filming and they totally bought it. We took off to the apartment complex ten minutes up the road, to settle the deal on my new apartment. It was on the fifth floor, was really open and bright with a beautiful balcony for watching sunsets.
It was a matter of minutes before my signature showed on the contract and I was handed the keys. Just in time to go and catch the flight to Dallas. The plane ride was relatively short, except Grayson became extremely anxious. I kept ignoring everything of his that came in, and before I knew it, we touched base in my home town. As expected, we immediately took off and got to work. Arriving at my apartment, we threw everything in boxes and rented out a moving truck to help us with the process. We tried to be gone as short as possible, but it took three days to pack everything up and haul it back to California. It was a fun trip with their friend, and I found myself constantly thanking him for going along with the plan. As we arrived, reaching days four and five, we unloaded the truck and moved everything in. He generously helped me set the essentials up such as my bed and helped find my dishes and clothing. The next day was the most crucial to my plan.
I arose early that morning, grabbed my camera and headed over to the twins' apartment. I rushed upstairs and straight to their numbered door. I connected fist to door, resulting in three large pounds on the door. I got my camera turned on and ready to film their reactions when the door swung open. And it did exactly that. Grayson was overly shocked and took me right in for a hug. I got a lot of scolding from him about not telling him where I was and what not. Finally I pried him off and opened my mouth. "Gray I have news to tell you." I said, stern sounding and upset. He nodded, letting me proceed. "Remember that bet you made about a week or two ago?" I asked, the camera still rolling. "Yes of course I do." He said blatantly. "I've decided I absolutely despise it here and want to go home right away." I explained, a complete lie. His mouth dropped in shock but then returned to its rightful closed position. I laughed under my breath and let out a loud sigh. "Ah you're so gullible." I claimed, whipping out my metallic gold key to my new place. "I moved here! That's why I didn't respond and just took off for a week Grayson!" I yelled excitedly. I could tell by the look on his face, he knew I just got him big time, but he also had no idea how to react. "No way.", he stated as bland as possible. I just got him big time. And I was proud. "(Y/N) you didn't just pull the biggest prank ever on me, the king of pranks." He rambled. I nodded excitedly and shut the camera off, setting it gently on the counter before running into his open arms. It was the best decision I had ever made. But the uneasy feeling was creeping faster into my life again, eating away at my heart.
