~5 Years Later~
I sat on the sofa in the living room combing through Amaya's long dark hair. She played with her doll while she sang a song, her voice filling the slient room with music.
"A gentle breeze from Hushabye mountain, softly blows o'er lullaby bay." Her voice is small and frail but she sings each note beautifully, and her tone is calming to hear. "It fills the sail of boats that are waiting, waiting to sail your worries away."
These moments with her make me feel at ease. Just me and her alone, together. All I want is to stay here with her, in this moment, and listen to her voice. Sadly that's something that I can't do, not now a days.
I finished doing the braid and tied it at the ends with a navy blue hair tie. "There, now go get your stuff or we'll be late." I said, she nodded her head, not wanting to stop singing, and made her to her bedroom with her doll. I got up then grabbed her hairbrush and other things then walked down the hall to the bathroom. I placed everything back its original place so Hachiro doesn't have a fit about it, then glanced up into the mirror.
I fixed my hair and black vest on my uniform, then pulled my name tag from my pocket and clipped it on. In black, bold letters it read: Katsuki Yuri.
"Amaya are you ready!?" I yelled, no response. "Amaya!?" I shouted again. I don't like it when she doesn't reply, it makes me worried. I walked to her bedroom, which was across from the bathroom, and opened the door. She wasn't inside.
Now I'm really worried, "Amaya!" I shouted running down into the living room. I glanced around the place and saw her sitting on the chair that was beside the door, I breathed a sigh of relief. "Amaya, I called for you two times why didn't you answer?" She didn't say anything and just keep looking at her shoes, that when I noticed she was softly crying. I walked over and got down to her level, "Sweet heart what's wrong?"
She look up at me with her hazel eyes now red from crying, she didn't say anything but held up her shoe to show me that her shoe laces where untied. "I-I-I can't do it." She said through choked sobs.
I started to wipe some of her tears off her cheeks with my hand. "It's okay, don't be upset."
"But I can't help it!" She cried louder, "I can't b-because I'm ugly and stupid!"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, the saddest part is I know why she thinks these things and it makes my heart shatter into pieces.
"Baby look at me," I gently pulled her face up to my face, "don't you ever say that about yourself. Never believe what your father say because your the smartest, most beautiful little girl I know. You understand, never doubt that?"
With tears still in her eyes, she nods her head up and down. I smiled and kissed her on top of her head, "I love you so much."
She wipes away the rest of her tears with her shirt sleeve. "I love you too mommy."
