The letter

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been really busy, so I think I'm going to do another chapter or make this one long. Either way, sorry for the late update and thanks for reading!

April 2nd, the whole college was buzzing with excitement over the holiday. Marinette didn't plan anything yet but she wasn't sure she wanted to. Tricks and pranks could be taken the wrong way or hurt someone, and Marinette definitely didn't want that to happen to anyone.

"Marinette! I found you!" Adrian grinned from within the immense crowd.

Marinette grinned back and waved, sticking out her hand for him to hold on and stay connected. Adrian grabbed it and blushed but a girl walked by, blocking his red face from Marinette's eyes. She blushed a bit too. It took a few seconds, but Adrian eventually found a way over and now he and Marinette were pressed against each other. Also what was even more embarrassing was that Marinette was against a wall with Adrian's hands on either sides of her. Adrian blushed extremely hard, avoiding eye contact with the bluenette.

"Well this is a tight spot..." Marinette finally said, breaking the silence between them.

"Yeah..." Adrian chuckled, still keeping his gaze apart from hers.

But what they both failed to notice were a pair of dark sea-green eyes staring at them intently, covering a relatively evil plan...

Marinette strolled down the hallway, towards the elevator, it had been fixed over winter break. On her way to get her mail. She pressed the button and waited for the car to come up. While she waited, she started humming "Frere Jacques" and playing with her fingers.

The car came up and she stepped inside, pressing the button down for floor 1. The doors closed and the elevator lowered down slowly. Marinette sighed, it was good that the elevator was fixed, but it was so slow!

Soon she was back in her room, opening a letter. It didn't say who it was from on the front, so she was curious. She read the first line and arched an eyebrow in confusion; From Nathanael?

Dear Marinette,

Hey Mari, I hope you're doing well, but I'm not sure how you'll be after this letter. So let me just get down to it; I want to break up.

I'm not going to pull the cliché stuff and be all like "it wasn't you, it was me" because that's not even close to why I'm doing this. First off, I really just can't stand this long-distance relationship between us, secondly, I like someone else now and finally, I heard about how close you were getting to Adrian and I don't like it. So this is goodbye, please delete my number from your phone.

From, Nathanael.

Marinette felt weird. She didn't feel like crying or screaming or anything like that, she just felt...slightly relieved, plain and giggly. She laughed, bending over her legs and really wearing out her lungs.

"Oh my gosh...this is precious." Sadie smirked when she found Marinette hugging Adrian.

Marinette looked over, her cheeks red and hot from all the laughing and she was holding back laughter and getting high pitched whimpers in return.

"Hey Sadie." Adrian smiled.

"Hi." She nodded to him.

"What's up?" Marinette breathed, holding back a chuckle.

"So...what was that piece of paper you were holding before?" She asked.

Marinette hesitated, but then burst out laughing. She reached into her pocket and handed Sadie the letter.

"This." She almost whispered, a small smile on her face.

Sadie took it, read it over, eyes widening. She held it up and pointed at it. "But this is a break up letter, why are you laughing about it?"

"I don't know, I just never really thought Nath would do that...actually...I think I'll call him and verify that he wants us to actually go our separate ways." Marinette nodded and pulled out her phone.

"No wait!" Sadie gasped, snatching Marinette's phone and accidentally clicking the call button for Chat Noir.
