CHAPTER 9

"Jenni!!!"

She drops the cake in panic and tries to get near the unconscious girl on the bloody floor. The scene sends a cold shiver down her spine.
"Someone help! Please! Ahhhh... Otthoke?!" She cries out for help and she remembers that no one is in the house.
Damn it! Gather up yourself Bem! Fck it!

She tried to console herself.
She needs to call the authorities.
She takes out her phone and dialed the number and frantically spoke on the other line.

"Aahh- a suicide scene. M-Min Jenni... her wrist - full of blood, please hurry... I guess sh-she still alive. Please HURRY!" She stammers as she gave them the complete address. She was asked not to do anything first and she obliged. She fearfully looks into her cold body and wonders about the reasons behind this. She still doesn't fully discover her boss' background. Over a month of service, she only realized a few things from him. She didn't bother to know him further for she knows that his personal life is none of her business at all and now she somehow regrets it. What could have gone wrong with them?

She cries in silence for all the things that happened tonight, it was too heavy for her to handle. She pitied Jenni and her boss too. Yoongi needs to know this and so she decided to call him.

Yoongi is still in his office completing the reports for the conference tomorrow. He's tired and he wants to sleep already. He thought of her sister for a moment and looks over to his phone and a call has appeared on the screen. Momentarily, he ponders why his secretary is calling him in the middle of his work. He clearly told her before that he doesn't want to be disturbed, but the call is annoying him already. He swears in his life that Bem will be doomed. I'll deal with you tomorrow!

"HELLO BOSS?!" he was greeted by an annoying, piercing voice of his secretary. Nice.
"WHAT THE HELL? I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME! ARE YOU THAT DUMB?!" He deliberately yelled on the phone, his secretary winces as she heard him shout on the other line.
Then he heard a loud cry, his secretary is crying. Wtf? He panicked for it was the first time that Bem cried because of him. That's unusual.
"Y-yah! Stop crying! Damn it! I'm just telling you to not disturb me when I'm working. Stop it, Okay? It wasn't my intention to shout at you..."
"Boss... Jenni... Sh-she attempted suicide. T-the a-ambulance is coming anytime soon. Sorry boss, they're here... we'll meet you in Hongdae General. Bye!" and the line went dead.

Yoongi's body stiffens as he's still looking at his phone. He heard it right, Jenni committed suicide and it's all because of him. Everything went dark and gloomy, his heart became numb. He absentmindedly hits his table and shoves everything away. He screamed with all his might and clutches his chest but the tears won't come out. If only he could just turn back time. If only.

The sound of the stretcher scratching the white tiles. The pungent smell of the hospital lingering in her nose and yet her senses are still awake. Ignoring the tiredness of her whole body. Bem is running along with the doctors and nurse carrying Jenni towards a room.

"You can stay here. Miss. We'll keep you posted." the doctor said and proceeded to enter the operating room. She was left there panting and hands covered in blood. She's still in panic and restless because of the situation she's in.

After 30 minutes, Yoongi came rushing on the hospital corridor. His face is emotionless again and yet his heart is full of fear, but when he sees his secretary sitting nervously on the chairs, he suddenly felt weird. It's as if he wants to cry at the moment, find comfort from her and seek for an encouragement, but NO. Not with this beggar.

"Boss?! Your sister... she- I can't do anything about it- I was so-
late- so late. I-I should have been there earlier- I'm so, so sorry!"
She burst into tears and ran to his embrace. She suddenly felt weak when he came in. Yoongi felt strange but chooses to hug her back instead of scowling at her. It was his fault after all. Everything is his fault. He sighs and closes his eyes feeling the comfort that he's been longing for. He was about to cry when...
