It turns out that I just needed some alone time after all. No matter what I tried though, I couldn't keep my mind off of him.
His smile, his clothes, his hair, and his dimples stuck to me like glue. I'm not usually one of those girls that obsesses over guys, but he was different.
He seemed like one of those guys who was really easy to talk to, someone who would be your best friend as well as your boyfriend.
"Nora?" I heard someone ask behind me.
"Trae! How did you find me?" I asked, turning around. His brown curly hair was sticking straight up.
"I know you come here to think, doofus," he said and nudged me over, taking a seat. "How are you feeling about the baby? The truth."
I bit my lip and squirmed around a little. "Well, you know mom had me when she was 19, and my dad really wasn't there to help. Now she's older and has a great support system, but I feel like something's off, Trae. This doesn't seem quite right."
He rested his head on my shoulder and blew air roughly out of his mouth. "You'll be fine, I promise Nora! Besides, if the kid gives you trouble, I'll trade you Charlie!"
I laughed and smiled at him. He always knew how to cheer me up, and he always had been there for me.
"Can we go now?" I asked quietly after about ten minutes of silence. "I don't really want to think about this anymore."
"What? Oh, yeah." Trae said drowsily. I had kind of figured he was asleep.
"Thanks. See you soon?" I smiled a little as we parted ways to our cars.
"Of course! Bye Nora!" I heard him yell over his shoulder as he sped off into the distance.
