"Kaitlyn have you ever thought about dying your hair?" Tess asked once again as Lily drove us towards the warehouse.
I looked over at Tess and gave her a look, "for the tenth time. I am not letting you dye my hair. Especially after last time." I mumbled as the memory of when we were 13 flashed through my mind, Tess had thought that it was a brilliant idea to try and dye my hair when we were having a sleepover. My hair turned dark green, it was not an experience I would like to relieve again.
Lily laughed from the drivers seat, "Tess give it up. No one is letting you near their hair."
Tess leaned back in the passenger seat and pouted, "fine then." She grumbled while I looked outside seeing the sun still shining bright in the cloudy sky.
"Is anyone going to Andrew's party tonight?" Tess asked as the car stayed silent.
"Maybe. I need to see if I can get out the house." Lily answered as Tess fiddled with the radio.
"What about you Kaitlyn?" Tess asked, turning around in her seat to look at me.
I looked away from the window and towards her instead, "sure."
Tess grinned, "you know ever since your dad died you have been more out-going." She blurted out.
It almost felt as if everything decided to slow down around me as I felt the memories trying to escape through the wall that I had built. I looked back out the window as her face fell.
"I'm- I'm sorry, Kaitlyn. That came out wrong-" Tess started but Lily pulled up at the warehouse giving Tess a sharp look.
"Tess just shut up." Lily snapped annoyed before turning around in the seat but I had already taken off my seat belt and was opening the car door.
I stepped out into the warm air feeling it breeze against my bare legs as I lifted my bag up onto my shoulder and then closed the door behind me. I began walking towards the door when I saw a black car pull up by Lily's car.
A man, who was wearing a black beanie, got out the car with one other guy that had curly hair. The two of them stood by each other and began talking, I racked my brain as I began to recognize them before my eyes widened slightly and then I turned around and entered the warehouse as Lily and Tess also came in behind me.
"Look Kaitlyn," Tess started as we walked through the warehouse, stepping around random chairs. A dim light was navigating us towards another door as I ignored Tess.
"Tess stop it," Lily insisted as I gripped my hand around the door handle and pulled it open instantly being attacked by the blinding flashing neon lights and blasting music that was being pumped out the speakers.
I manoeuvre my way through the mess of hot bodies, my eyes soon got use to the lights. I didn't turn around to see if Tess and Lily were following, I'll be seeing them soon anyway. I felt my bag get caught between someone so I stopped and tugged at my bag which caused a man to look at me with drunken eyes.
"Haven't seen you here before." He slurred, his words blurring into one where it was hard to understand him due to the pumping music.
I turned on my heel and walked away from him hoping that he was bright enough to not follow me. Too bad he wasn't. As I felt someone grip my arm lazily, I turned around and brought my heel up and stamped down on the drunken mans foot and watched his features twist into anger.
