4 years later......

"Rae... Rachel!" I could hear the faint sound of my aunt Lisa's voice. "Rachel." Her voice seeming louder. I felt a hand on my shoulder, then it started to shake me.

I finally opened my eyes to see people standing up.

"We're here! C'mon!"

I sat up and stretched. I slept for at least 2 hours. Our plane stopped in California before we finally made our way to Arizona.

While people were still filing out like kids getting off the school bus to start their long 7 hours of school, I remained seated. Looking out the window, you could tell it was hot out.

Thankfully, it was hot when we left Brisbane so I was wearing a fluorescent green spaghetti strap with jean shorts and a bright pink belt. I took my dirty blonde hair and threw it in a quick messy bun. I hadn't cut my hair in 2 years so it was in the middle of my back. I covered my blue eyes with my zebra print sunglasses.

Arizona weather in the summer has always been torture to someone who wasn't used to temperatures above 95. Lucky for me, I had grown used to it and the weather in Australia was similar.

The car ride continued to be very long and boring! We had to take a taxi because we didn't have a car. My grandma kept our old car so we would have a way of transportation when we got back. She lived an extra 20 minutes away from our house so our car ride with the stranger driving us was over an hour.

I was still tired. My plan was to get home, throw my luggage on my bedroom floor, belly flop on my bed, and fall asleep. But that wasn't going to happen because my grandma was a talker and knowing her, she'll probably talk our heads off for a couple hours.

I was right, and it all started when we walked through the door.

"Lisa! Aw honey! Come here baby girl! I've missed you! How was the flight? Where's Lisa? Are you hungry?"

I came up behind aunt Lisa with my luggage. I left some of my stuff in Brisbane for some of the other kids who could use them. "Hi grandma! I'm right here. What do you want me to do with my luggage?"

"Just set them on the porch sweetie. You can out them in the car later. So..."

We both looked at her with a smile. It's good to see familiar faces. Although this familiar face has a lot more wrinkles than last time I'd seen her.

"The flight was okay. It seemed really long," my aunt Lisa finally spoke up.

"When was the last time you ate?"

"A couple hours ago. We had a sandwich and a small bag of chips."

"You guys must be hungry! Come come! I made taco salad!"

My stomach growled at the sound of it. I love taco salad. My all time favorite food.

Dinner was amazing and now we were all settled in the living room. It reminded me of an interview. My grandma kept asking us questions about our time in Australia while we would answer them.

While my grandma and aunt were talking about her job and volunteer work that she did and what she was planing on doing while we were back, I was left on the couch, slowly dozing off.

"Look at her. So precious. She's grown into such a beautiful young lady." My grandma said in a hushed tone.

"Yeah..."

"You've done well raising her on your own. Your sister would be so happy that you took her into your arms and mothered her."

"Every time I look at Rachel, I can't help but see Lily. She looks so much like her, and she's starting to act like her, too. She's quite and likes to keep to herself, but when there are people around she turns into a bright and outgoing person. It's like she's 2 different people. I think she's still coping with the loss of her parents."

"Well she was only 9 and she was close to her parents. Are you going to take her to the cemetery?"

"Their 6 year anniversary is coming up in less than a month. I think I'll wait."

"You both are so strong."

"I wish I could be stronger. I hear her balling her eyes out sometimes and I can't help but cry myself."

"It's okay to cry! I cry at times. Don't be afraid to cry."

"I think she'll feel better once we go back to a routine and she sees some of her old friends again. I'm planing to enroll her tomorrow at the high school."

"Sounds great! You girls should go home and get some sleep. You're probably tired, too!"

"Alright Ma."

"I'm so glad you girls are back!"

"Me, too. Me, too."

A/N

Okay so this was kinda boring, I'll admit. But it'll get better! I promise! And I'm uploading again! YAY! Aren't you proud of me? I'm proud of myself! I deserve a vote and some comments and all that good stuff!
