chapter five:dinner with the kanes

it took me a minute to realize that danny was extremely rude to me when he told me to be more careful. i role my eyes and walk into the office. they just wanted to make sure they had all my information correct.

i was at my locker ready to leave with the girls to hang out when lily says "here comes the queen bee grace." i turn around seeing her right in front of me. "hey new girl. i saw you looking at danny earlier and i just wanted you to know that he's mine so stay the hell away from him." she said then she pushes me into the lockers and walks away laughing with her minions. the girls ask me if i'm ok and i say yes.  that put a damper on my pretty good first day making it bad. i shake it off and try to forget about it.

we decided to go to my house to hang out. when i get home my mom was extremely happy i made friends. she then told me that we were going to the neighbors for dinner because they invited us over. i nod. the girls leave about an hour later leaving me 15 minutes to get ready. i keep my jeans on but change my shirt into a striped pink and white shirt.

we walk over to the house and a women in a white dress greets us. "hi we haven't officially met yet but i'm cindy. please come in" she says shaking my hand(she met my parents earlier inviting us to dinner).

"you have a beautiful house" i say "thank you dear" cindy replies back. "right this way to the dining room."

we take our seats while she goes to get the rest of her family. i see a man in his 50's who i assume her husband, a little girl, and danny. yes danny. the second i saw him i immediately try to look away so we don't have to make eye contact. sadly he sits down next to me with the little girl on my other side. "hi i'm bella" she said with the cutest voice i've ever heard. "hi i'm ashely it's nice to meet you." i reply back smiling. i feel danny staring at me and i try to ignore it.

as soon as dinner was over cindy suggested i go up to danny's took with him for a little while to hang out while she cleans up the dishes from dinner and get dessert ready. i nod nervously. we walk up to his room and it's surprisingly neat. his walls are painted gray and has a king size bed in the middle of his room along with a dresser and a desk. i hesitantly walk into his room and sit at the chair he has for his desk.

i sit there awkwardly while he texts who knows who. "dessert" i hear cindy say and i leap out of the chair and run downstairs. she made chocolate mousse and it was AMAZING!!! after about another hour, we go home. i change and go to sleep. i'm exhausted and cannot wait for this pretty bad day to be over.
