“It has been two months since we have adopted them. Amara is happy to be here but I am not sure about Johnny. It seems like he is always looking over his shoulder. What could he possible be worrying about?” Double D is sitting up in bed trying to figure out why Johnny isn't happy living there with them. Kevin basically spoils them but johnny has yet to adjust to the new house. He always seems worried, scared even.
“Baby relax. Everybody adjusts at different times. You just have to let him do it at his own rate.” Kevin sits up on his elbow and looks at his fiancé. He sees the worry clear on Double D's face. He can't stand seeing him anything but happy.
“Don't worry baby. Everything's going to be fine. He just needs a little more time is all.” Kevin holds Double D's hand and lovingly strokes his cheek. Double D leans into his lover's hand and sighs. He doesn't want to admit that the name Amara mentioned so many days ago. ‘Ricky.’ The name sounded so familiar to Double D for some reason. It was like a distant memory that he couldn't quite remember.
“I guess you are right Kevin. Our little boy just needs more time. I think I shall go to sleep now.  Good night mi amore. ” Double D gives Kevin a quick peek on his cheek and turns around, laying his head on his pillow and tucks his arm under his head and closes his eyes. After laying this way for a few moments Double D's arm starts to fall asleep but he doesn't dare to move until he is certain that Kevin is sleeping. He waits until he hears him snoring. He stays up for hours trying to find out why that name sounds so familiar to him. Double D gets up and was over to the window that looks over to Kevin's father's house.
Ricky. Come on Double D. You can remember names from all the nannies you had before you moved here. All the pool boys your mother, and FATHER, had sex with. Sometimes in front of you but you can not place a simple five-lettered name? If you still spoke to your parents they would be disappointed that all the money they put into your education went to waste.’ Double D self-tortures himself for another minute or so before he feels somebody watching him. He looks back at Kevin and sees that his soon-to-be husband is still sleeping peacefully. He looks out the window figuring that he was just imagining it. Double D looks back at the abandoned house across from him. As he is staring at the house he sees a short, burly shadow move on the left side of the house. The dark silhouette looks directly at Double D and he feels a shiver run down his spine. It seems like they are looking right through to his soul. Double D let's out a small gasp and back away from the window. The shadow follows his every move and makes a step towards the house. As soon as they make a move a motion sensor light comes on and Double D can make out certain shapes of their body, especially their nose. They move back into the shadows once again hiding their features before Double D can get a better look at them.
Double D hurried back into bed and cowers under the quilt. He tries to seek comfort from the fact that his fiancé is next to him and would never let anything happen to him or their children. Double D pushes himself into Kevin's side clearly seeing that nose in his mind. The shape of it freaked him out. Not only did it look familiar to him, he knew exactly why it would. That nose was the exact same as his very own nose.
