chapter ten || reasons
Taylah's POVI stared at my hands in deep wonder, cautiously turning them slowly, attempting to pick up on any sudden movements.
I just don't understand. How was I able to use my hands, to pickup a whole body of water, without touching it, and launch it at Ryder? It just didn't make sense.
Maybe my mom could help.
I picked picked up my phone from my bedside table and quickly dialed my mom's number. She picked up within the first ring and cheerfully greeted me in her gentle tone.
"Hi, baby!"
"Hi, mom," I sighed, playing with my hand in my lap.
"What's wrong, Taylah? Is everything okay over there?" She questioned worriedly, as she shuffled around.
"Mom, do werewolves have powers, or rather abilities?"
I patiently waited for her reply as her side of the phone suddenly fell silent.
"Why are you asking me this?" She asked cautiously.
"I just am. Answer me, mom. Do they?" I pressed, nervously biting on my nails.
I once again patiently waited for her reply as she suddenly fell silent again. At this stage, I was beyond fearful of her answer.
"No."
"No?" I cried out, my eyes widening.
"No, baby, they don't. Why are you asking me this, Taylah? Are sure everything is okay?"
I opened my mouth to reply but was cut off by a loud knock on my door. I shut my eyes and sighed.
"Yea, mom, everything is fine. Look, I have to go. I'll speak to you later," I said rapidly and hung up the phone before she could reply.
I threw my phone on the soft cushioning of my bed and stood up. I quickly walked up to the door and opened it to reveal the Alpha himself.
"Follow me," he demanded, his face void of emotion.
I stared up into his stormy eyes that always seemed to give me some type of emotion, but unfortunately for me, nothing. Just blank irises.
I sighed and nodded at him, stepping out of my room and shutting the door behind me. I followed behind him, down the long hallway and immediately noticed that he was leading me to the pack library. Why? I have no idea.
He stopped at the large door, placing his hand on the knob, turning it and opening it. He stood aside and gestured for me to enter the large room so I stepped around him and entered the room silently. He followed after me, shutting the door behind him and coming to stand in front of me.
"Taylah, I would like to discuss something with you," he spoke in his deep smooth voice, his stormy eyes locking into mine.
I swallowed audibly and nodded my head, urging him to continue.
Adrianno cleared his throat and continued, "I need to ask you what you know of yesterday's incident involving Beta Ryder."
"Okay, but why are we discussing this in the library?" I questioned, tilting my head to the side in wonder.
Adrianno clenched his jaw before turning away and breaking eye contact.
