CHAPTER 9: Adrian Jerald Santos Carlmas

           

ADRIAN'S POV

He was tired from his trips abroad. However, he was able to visit his father in Germany. He missed his dad so much that's why he made it to the point that he would drop by in Munich. Likewise, he also missed his mother so much. She died of colon cancer. His father and him tried their best in getting the much needed medication for her but to no avail. She succumbed to death. That was 5 years ago. His father is a German who happened to be a well-known personality and a wealthy tycoon of  Carlmas Enterprise that comprises Shipping Lines, Hotels, Condominiums, Coffee Shops and Department Stores. His mother, on the other hand, lived a life of a famous celebrity in the Philippines. Charlene Santos was a great singer and a well-known dramatic actress. She met Adolf Albert Carlmas when the latter visited the Philippines for his foundation. As what a great love story had said, it was "love at first sight" for the two. They fell in love and got married in Germany. From there on, Charlene quitted showbiz and decided to be with Adolf and her only son to him, Adrian Jerald Santos Carlmas.

His parents sent him in New York to study. He was sent to exclusive schools and was trained to be the next CEO of his father's business. Adolf decided to retire from his work and just focused himself on his foundation especially for those who were sick of cancer. His father also invested in New York, the reason why the name CARLMAS was a famous name in Manhattan. He met Richard Benjamin Walters Rosales and they became buddies. They easily got connected, maybe, because both of them had Filipino blood. Both of them graduated with honors at prestigious Harvard University. Both of them were gifted with oozing sex appeal and good looks, aside of course, from being tagged as BILLIONAIRE BACHELORS. The two were always in the front covers of lifestyle and business magazines. Some prominent movie directors wanted them to appear on their movies, but they turned them down. Adrian and Richard had experienced the pain of losing a parent. Richard lost his father while Adrian lost his mother. But, the painful experience helped them to be strong and achieve success in their own feet.

"Ms. Caine, please inform Stephanie of Fifth Avenue Men's Exclusive Boutique that I could not make it in there, because of my important business engagement for tomorrow. But, I could give a spare time to her, here in my office, tomorrow morning," Adrian instructed her secretary.

"Copied, Sir Adrian," Ms. Caine nodded her head to her boss.

It was a busy Friday for Adrian. After his trips abroad, he went back immediately to his work. He went home at 7 at his own Carlmas Mansion situated in the wealthy residential mansions at Lenox Hills.

He made his way to his own room, his massive Master's Bedroom with a king size bed. He gently laid himself on his bed and just stared up at the ceiling. His trusted servant Alfred Medved knocked and  entered his room, "Sir Adrian, dinner is served," he notified him.

"Thank you, Alfred. I'll be there in a few minutes," Adrian said.

Adrian took a quick shower and change into his cotton pajamas and a cotton V-neck shirt. He proceeded to the dining area and ate his dinner silently. After dinner, he requested Alfred to make him a cup of coffee and bring it to his room. Alfred immediately obliged.

Adrian had everything in his life, but not exactly. He's still single...a bachelor. He had encountered many women in his life. He's into a situation that women chased him as always. He had flings here and there but he never committed himself to someone. He had needs but he always emphasized to the women he brought to bed that everything was attributable to lust... nothing else. He had once felt being in love with someone, but she chose her career. Nevertheless, he continued living his life and focused his attention to his position and owner of Carlmas Enterprise. With his hard work, perseverance and diligence, he was able to add to his venture, his latest investment the Carlmas Airlines. Talking about being rich huh......

Adrian went straightaway to his office at the 20th floor of Carlmas building. He was greeted by his secretary, Ms. Mollie Cane. "Good Morning Mr. Carlmas."

"Good Morning too, Ms. Cane. Is Stephanie here already?," Mr. Carlmas asked her while looking at his watch.

"Oh, Sir Adrian, Stephanie was not available today, but she sent her sale associate instead. Actually she's in your office already," Ms. Cane answered without releasing a single breath.

"Oh, I see. I will see her now and Ms. Cane, remind me of my business meeting at 9:30," Adrian told her while walking towards the door of his office.

"Yes, Sir Adrian," Ms. Cane said.

Adrian entered his office and he saw no one inside. He even scanned his room again looking for his visitor but he found no one. He moved towards his chair. He sat down and opened his MAC Book to check some of his important transactions.

When suddenly another door opened and a figure of a woman in black dress, black stocking, black stiletto and yellow scarf came into sight. She didn't noticed his presence in the room that's why he made a way to inform her of his presence.

"What did you do there?," He asked.

The woman in black dress, black stocking, black stiletto and yellow scarf just stood and gazed at him in mute appeal.

Then, Adrian heard, "KIngina! SI ADRIAN!" The woman muttered to herself but unknowingly it was heard by Adrian.

"What is KINGINA, woman?" He asked looking straight into the woman's eyes.
