Hope For Better Days

I sometimes thought Bonga was the careless and never mind,but today I saw his weak point. It was only me,Bonga and Dingi in this room therefore we had to sort it out before the rents enter the room

I truly loved Neilwe, I know its silly because Bonga is young but he is 20 and my mom could look after the baby while they continue studying

At last we concluded that Bonga should come clean to the rents before they find out from Neilwe's parents. I plead to Dingi to at least accept her and he did. Right at the moment the door flew open,there she was,my soon to be sister in law.

I thought she came here to see her boyfriend but no she flew to me and gave me a big hug,she nearly picked me up from the bed,
But then I was shocked to see Dingi joining in for a group hug

Poor Bonga was left out
After seconds that I wished would be hours,Bonga coughed and Neilwe turned,her face turned pale and went onto Bonga's chest.

She clearly didn't know we shared a room with Bonga.
We talked until she told us that her mom is suspecting her pregnancy

The room was now tense,I could feel Bonga shaking meters away but I reassured them its gonna be fine

Visiting time went off but Dingi refused to leave my side so nurses let him stay.
After a week we were released from the hospital and schools were now open,we went back to school and everything was normal until it was Christmas Eve...

Bonga decided to tag Neilwe along and told my parents about their child
To my surprise, they knew already but they waited for Bonga to come clean and Neilwe didn't know her parents already confirmed that she is pregnant with a baby boy

I was so happy
On Christmas day,Bonga drove me and Dingi to church and left to Neilwe's house

When we get home after church,we found Neilwe's parents and they were discussing the wedding day,it was on Easter, April 14th
The day before that it was our birthday April 13th

Today was the happiest day,our cousins were here,two families had lunch together and parted ways
The following year we were doing grade 8 and as happy as we were,we wouldn't let anyone tear us apart. Our birthday passed well,wedding passed and now it was winter holidays again,
This time no one called for a visit
So one Sunday on my way to church,I was walking alone because Dingi was sick
I saw this one guy from our school

He looked as cute as the first time I saw him,his brown eyes,nearly blonde hair and sharp nose made him more attractive
He was tall and light,that is he is a colored guy
He was in my Geography class so obviously I see him often

This guy approached me and volunteered to be my company. It was wierd because as much as I talk, no not ever wants to tag along with me because I am not a girly girl type
He asked for my numbers and got surprised when I said I don't have a phone. I gave him that 'duh' look and he giggled

Well I enjoyed his company and truly he was my crush so every second he made his silly jokes I laughed so hard

Dingi will never like this
Schools opened and we decided to become friends with the only guy that caught my breath and made my heart beat twice every second I saw him- Quinton (Q) my crush
But Dingi was worried that I give most of my time to this new guy and I only get to pay attention to him only at home
With his attitude he wanted to hate the poor Q but I begged him not to
As a revenge,he told mom about him and mom got worried.
But quickly thought of a distraction,she told us that she got a big surprise for us at the end of the year for the one with many distinctions

From that day,me and Q decided to discuss together at school
Dingi refused to join us so we discussed together when we arrive at home...I worked my ass out to be the best
Though Dingi was half of me,I wouldn't let him beat me at my own game...noo

End of the year,grade8 results were then posted on our principal's window,I was making my way there when I saw Q running to me,he picked me up and spun me still uttering "we made it babe,you are mine now"

Oh I had promised him I would be his girlfriend if we both make it pleasingly to the next grade

I was now afraid he got better marks than me and for that either Dingi or my mom,one of them was going to kick my butt of

I didn't answer him I just ran off his hands,pushed through those living the and to my surprise I didn't see my name

I was then woken up from my sinking thoughts by the bell
But still, i didn't believe it. Ever since I got here I've been the best I kept wondering what had happened as I made my way to the hall where the awards for best performers were given

I am sure I was the last person to enter the hall and as short as I am,everyone wanted to see me as if I was accused of murder.."right neh,this is karma" I thought but where is my twin?
Just before I could look for a chair I saw them:Quinton and the one and only Dingiwe Khuswayo but why are they only two? I mean every year they announce three top achievers or maybe things changed?

Everyone stared at me when I pulled the chair out to seat but before I could the principal asked
"Where is Thenjiwe?"
Jesus even her? I couldn't take it anymore
I felt like collapsing....suddenly there hall was filled with noise and people were cheering and I felt someone picking me up,I wanted to slap him but I couldn't until I saw that its actually my Languages teacher..."wait he is taking me up to the stage??"

This man was embarrassing me more..but then the whole school said "congratulations Thenjiwe_"
They started throwing balloons my way and my heart sank a little
For a second I thought I was dreaming but no
My report was given to me in a frame with my brightful 9 distinctions

Unbelievable

But hey rules were changed this year because both Q and Dingi got 7 distinctions and they got the second place so the school had to sabotage the third place by buying this two the same presents together with silver medals

My first year at junior high school ended with a gold medal,what has my mother got for us?especially me?
