The dark lake got frozen and in the middle of it, it was him smiling at her.
"Now the sun must have to come back, don't you think so?" He said while the ice was breaking under his feet.
She was happy because he had returned but in spite of the fact that he was there, the ice couldn't hold on his weight.
"You should stop walking, shouldn't you?" She said with an ironic tone, hiding her terrible fear.
"Maybe yes... maybe no" He said, moving his head from side to side. "If you come..." He extended his hand. "Probably I can stop walking."
It took her less than one second to understand the message; it was obvious that he wanted her to go over there with him.
"What would happen if... I don't know. The lake seems to be angry."
"Do not be silly little girl, come here. I have something for you."
The sky was full of starts and she put her left naked foot on the frozen lake. At the beginning she was careful with each step and after a while he held her hand.
"You see. It was not so complicated to come here."
"Could I know what the surprise is?" She asked to him looking into his eyes.
He smiled and whispered in her ear...
"I fooled you."
At first she felt like an idiot, then her face turned red but it wasn't because she was angry because of the joke.
"Has anyone ever told you that you look so lovely when you blush?" He said softly after kissing her.
