“Hello?”

“Bray!”

“How many times do I have to tell you that it’s Bree not Bray! It sounds so gay!”

“Yea~ yea~!”

“Tsk… By the way, why did you call?”

“Jane asked if you want to go shopping after our classes tomorrow.”

“Uhmm, I’ll think about it, I need the witch’s permission.”

“*rolls eyes* Oh, I understand. Catch up with you later. I hope so. Bye!”

They already know and it’s a given fact that I can never go with their affairs. My aunt never allows me to. Pity you, Amber Williams. I'm so angry I can kill someone. The moment I can save enough money I will surely leave this house.

Author’s POV

Amber Williams’s everyday life is all the same.  Wake up, go to school, housework, study, go to bed. She does not have any free time as her daily routine never changes. On weekends, she goes to her part-time job. On a Saturday she works at a convenience store, on a Sunday she works at a burger stall. She keeps her money for her own necessities and also saves it for her future plans.

Amber’s alarm rang and another day is coming her way.

“Argghh! Shut up!”

She shut her alarm clock and went back to her sleep. Monday is the day where she always finds it hard to wake up. Her work every Sunday is until 10pm and that makes her sleep late.

“Amber Williams! Are you still sleeping?” Yes, we know that her aunt Virgie is cruel but she still cares about Amber’s studies. She can surely gain by the time Amber graduates and finds a work. Well, it has always been her ultimate plan; to use Amber for financial purposes.

“Yah! Amber Williams! I’ll count to three and if you still don’t wake up you’re going to get it from me. One…Two…Thre~”

“I’m here! I’m wide awake. No need to count like that, it’s so childish.”

“What are you saying there?”

“It’s nothing aunt Virgie.”

Amber got scolded AGAIN by her aunt. Well, it’s as expected. At least she gets allowance.

Amber’s POV

I really hate her! Good thing she’s not here at school. If she is, that’s the end of me. I think losing my parents is enough torture but living with her. Arggghhh! I can’t even think about it.

“Amber!”

“Oh, hi Cath!”

“We were just on our way to class”

“Where’s Jane?”

“With Mark of course”

Yeah, I forgot, she’s with the university’s most popular man, Mark. She and Mark are childhood friends. People with the same social status always end up together. I don’t believe in fairytales, Cinderella? Duh! Which moron would hide her identity and leave her shoes for the prince to find. This prince is also stupid. Wah~ Arre there even fairy godmothers in the first place? The rich’s with the rich and the poor’s with the poor. Well, that’s my prophecy. From Amber Williams’s ‘Book of Prophecies’. Romance is on the bottom of my list anyway.

“Amber?  You there?”

“Oh, sorry”

“Daydreaming eh?”

“Someone just said sorry here.”

“Yeah right. Let’s go?”

Author’s POV

Amber Williams studies in a prestigious school and only got in because of her parent's school plan for her. They have already prepared for her to get in to school whatever happens. Of course, it not just because of the money, Amber also did her part. She passed the entrance test where only a small number of students get in to. Money can't buy everything. All students of the university are the smartest of the elites. Well, Amber's just the former right now. She will never get to be rich again.

 Jane's POV

"Oh really? That's great! I can't wait to see him soon."

Author's POV

Jane and Mark are childhood friends but there are two others missing in the picture.

It is Friday and Jane, together with Mark fetched Amber in her home.

“Yah! Just what am I really? Your boyfriend or your driver? ” Mark shrieked like an old man.

"Mark~~ Please understand Bree's situation. You know it right? I’ve been forcing her to stay with me but you see. She’s really hard-headed. Uhmmm! You’re so cute!”

"Fine! Stop pinching me already! Just because I love you." *Beep Beep*

"I know, there’s no need to tell me. I love you too! I hope Bree's done. Honk your car again." *Beep Beep*

"By the way, Jane, he's arriving tomorrow."

"Oh, we should surprise him at the airport."
