Foxy was drinking a fuel can in the back, counting how many were left, when Chica stuck her head into the nook with bright eyes. "FOXY!" The yellow chicken yelped, startling Foxy into a blush on his cheeks. The fox flicked an ear, a robotic shifting noise coming from inside his endoskeleton.
"Hm? Wot be wrong?" He let his eyes slowly look over her for a moment. He looked up to meet her gaze again. She looked cheery. Even more cheery than that morning.
"Today we are BACK IN THE GAME!" She laughed. A confused look was plastered on his face.
"Chica. Talk in English."
"Oh, right right right, sorry. But Foxy! Today's the Night Guard's first night!"
"Chica. Look. Ye need to calm down. It's th' very first day, lass. Let's give him a surprise. He won' be trained for us. We can do things diff'ren'ly."
Chica looked puzzled. Foxy felt his chest tighten. Had he said something wrong?
But it clicked in her head. "Ohohohoho! I see! We strike when he thinks he's a seasoned Nightguard. He'll have no tactics left for us!" Foxy knew he had to be blushing slightly by now. She was just too cute when she got excited.
"Then we strike." Freddy butted in, his one endoskeleton eye looking especially sinister. Foxy grinned at their leader. The animatronics had definitely all become acquaintances since the Toys took over their lives.
Bonnie walked in after him. "By the way... we have been running really low on fuel. The Toys are gonna be running around all night, too. But we don't even have a night's worth left because we have needed it to heal up."
Foxy returned his attention to the cans. They were getting horrifically low. They'd be dead bags of metal by the next day. The fox looked at Chica decisively. Then he turned to the others.
"We met my fox counterpart last night- she's nicer than the others." Foxy said sternly.
Freddy looked ready to kill for a can of fuel. "We can do it. Why do we need to enlist the help of one of THEM?"
"Because she's NOT one of them. She's from a sister location. They hate her as much as us, but they tolerate her more."
Freddy and Bonnie faltered as Foxy explained Funtime to them. He backed up slowly, his tail lashing behind him. "She'll help us if she's such a fan of me." Foxy half-joked.
Freddy grunted, turning to Bonnie, who was nodding at him tenderly. The brown bear turned back to Foxy. "Alright. Let's all four of us go. In case it's a trick or something."
"Or in case the Toys are wandering around when we try to get to the vents." Chica shrugged. Bonnie whimpered at both statements, hugging Freddy lightly.
"Let's go, guys. No time to dawdle. We burn fuel as we speak."
The four shapes headed off into the night after sharing the last four fuel cans.
"You want MY HELP?" Funtime let her face open up in surprise, causing Freddy to wince and Bonnie to yelp loudly. Her face stayed open as she continued to speak, rambling excitedly. "Of course, I figured this would happen since you can't really do it yourself because the other Toys are absolute jerks but I mean I didn't think you would need MY help like maybe BB or someone else, maybe T-Chi would do it so her game would last longer, something like that. But of course I'll-" She paused, staring at them suspiciously. "Is there a catch?"
Foxy shrugged. "Just that you bring them to us once every few days or so."
"And that you have enough!" Freddy added sternly.
"Oh we have plenty plenty plenty too much! You'll have extras, I swear! I give you my word, sister's honor!"
"Sister!?" Bonnie hollered. Funtime's face closed in surprise that the quiet rabbit had gotten so loud.
"I come from a sister location... didn't you know that?"
"I don't think they understood it that much." Foxy quickly explained.
"W E L L." She mumbled. "I'll get them for you anyways, then. We're not actually related, it's- knowhat, whatever. Go back to Parts and Service, it's almost twelve." She hastily shoved them back into the vent as the faint clicking and whirring of the Toys coming to life again came from the other room. The withered animatronics returned to the hallway.
There was a shriek.
Foxy turned. The guard stood positioned with an axe in his hand, seething with fury and fear. His eyes were focused on Bonnie, whose face was contorted into a haunted, horrified expression.
"Rob....?" Bonnie spoke softly, and then the Night Guard surged forward and drove the axe into his torso.
