Xander wandered back to his dormitory. His thick leather jacket covered his white lab coat with the vibrant blue Vault-Tec symbol sown onto it. He felt happy, content with his life and work over the past 3 years; he didn't enjoy his work but helping the vault was helping the vault, plus he didn't have a choice. He had regular meeting with The overseer, who insisted Xander was to call him Johnathon, about the resource situation and the future of the vault. Johnathon valued his suggestion and they voted with the rest of the committee before establishing a meeting time where all vault dwellers would speak their opinions on the matter before a final decision is made.
He came to a 3 way hallway and took a left and towards the dormitory door. The door slid open and he looked around. Thank god, I'm alone.
The took a seat on his trunk and thought to himself. That day he had proposed a plan for a constant, reliable source of water after the scare thst took place a month before, where the overseer and Xander himself, as well as other people inside the vault, woke to find the water pumps producing thick, muddy liquid; but, thankfully, the whole predicament was caused by a faulty drainage system and was solves quickly, but the whole situation had made everyone worried. So, for the past week, Xander and his colleagues in the science department had worked on a solution for the bigger problem, the inevitable water shortage that would kill many of the weak. But this 'solution' would not come without consequences of it own and Xander was still uneasy about the whole operation categorised as the 92nd operation that had taken place in existence of the vault and was 1st in priority levels
"Good morning! VAULT-TEC calling."
Xander jumped. He sprung of his case and landed on the hard, cold floor with a loud, echoing thud.
"Professor Xander to the overseers office
Professor Xander to the overseers office
Thank you and congratulations on being prepared for the future!"

"As you can see, this plan is broken into 3 stages" Xander pointed to the board. "Our 1st, and the most crucial step, is to send a 3 man party into the wasteland." He paused to observe the facial expressions of the committee. Then continued, "I know this is a risk move it's our only solution. Once the party reach the surface they plant this device into the nearest soil" He holds up the small, metal contraption "and this into a water source." He holds another contraption in the air and waves it around. "The first device tells us radiation levels and the second takes water into the water process rooms on floor 2."
"And step two and three?" A tall, slender man asked.
"Don't get a head of yourself, I'm almost there." Xander grinned.
"Step two and three are quite simple, in fact they are extremely simple and nothing can really go wrong. The party is to scavenge the nearby town for weponds and supplies and settlers. Then they are to return to the vault." Xander glanced at Johnathon "It's quite simple," He added.
"All in favor." Johnathon called. "Nine in favor. So let it be written in the history books as of today; Operation 92 is of top priority."
"I volunteer as a party member." Xander stated.
