It had been a year and a half since the Avengers had rescued you from that place "they" forced you to call home. You didn't know who "they" really were, so it made it difficult for the team to help get rid of them. It didn't help that you didn't remember anything either. Hardly anything was known about your identity. All you could find was your name and where you were from. It seemed as though most of your life had been wiped from the system when you disappeared.

"Y/n! We need to talk to you." Steve said as he and Natasha entered your small apartment. They had keys just in case anything were to happen.

You set your book down on the table and sat up from your laid back position on the couch. "What is it?" you asked, alarmed by their sudden intrusion.

"Do you know of an assassin that goes by the name 'The Winter Soldier'?" Natasha asked, her face hard and expectant.

You froze. What was the soldier doing out? What ever it was, you knew it wasn't good. They only brought him out for the missions that you couldn't handle, and you must've been easy enough to replace without using the soldier.

"I'm taking it from the stunned silence that you've heard of this guy before?" Steve interrupted your thoughts.

"I've more than heard of him. He trained me." you answered.

"So, you know him?" Natasha continued.

"If your hoping I know his identity, you're gonna be disappointed. It was strictly lessons. Nothing more. Nothing less. But I have a feeling that they didn't treat him any better than they treated me." you explained, sympathy flooding your voice in the last sentence. "Why the sudden interest in the Winter Soldier?" you wondered.

"He just took out Fury." Steve answered solemnly.

You stopped. You hadn't known the director of SHIELD for very long, but he was kind enough to include you in SHIELD activity despite your history as an assassin.

"Listen, I know you two might be able to handle this yourselves, and I know why you don't normally let me come with you on your missions, but do you think I could tag along? If we run into the Winter Soldier again, I might be able to get through to him." you said.

"Sure." Steve replied and you ran to gather your things.

You came back into the room with a pistol strapped to your side and a couple of knives in your pockets. "Just be careful. Try not to kill him. I'm sure he needs rescuing just as much as I did." you said quietly.

Both Steve and Natasha nodded in response. And with that, the three of you set out.
