You walked through the marketplace in Bucharest, Romania, repeatedly scanning the scene for Bucky. People bustled about having their own private conversations in a language that was mostly unknown to you. You could pick out a few words you knew here and there, but Romanian was never important enough for you to have to know.
You found a newspaper stand and decided to see what the headline was. You picked one up off of the side and noticed that it was about the Winter Soldier. The picture was the one from the security camera footage from yesterday. From this information, you quickly put together what the headline said. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw the man inside the newspaper stand run from his seat. You turned to see Bucky standing next to you as he picked up the paper from the counter.
"Bucky!" you sighed.
Bucky turned to face you. "Y/n?"
"Yea." you replied. "Alright, listen. We have to get you out of here as soon as possible. The CIA is on your tail and they have orders to shoot on sight." you explained.
"Then you shouldn't be here." he said.
"That's exactly why we have to be here." you retaliated.
"We?" he asked.
"Steve's waiting for you at your apartment in case you went there before I could find you, and Sam's watching from the air." you admitted.
Bucky stopped. "We've gotta go." he said and took a hold of your hand before taking off for his apartment. You kept on his heels as he took you down crowded streets and busy markets trying to lose anybody who might be watching. You came up on his small apartment and the two of you entered silently as per Bucky's orders. You walked into the room as Steve noticed Bucky standing there. Steve looked over to you, acknowledging your presence.
"Do you remember me?" Steve asked looking over to Bucky.
"You're Steve. I read about you at the museum." Bucky replied.
You could feel your cheeks getting red when Bucky mentioned the museum, the place that you had let him run. You looked down at the floor as Steve glanced over at you. Bucky seemed to notice this.
"You aren't mad at her, are you? For letting me go at the museum." Bucky asked, trying to protect you.
"No." Steve replied. "I mean I was at first, but I forgave her." he said with a small smile.
Bucky looked over at you for confirmation. You nodded you head to let him know that everything was alright. He seemed to loosen up a little, but still wasn't quite sure that he could trust Steve.
