Coffee Break

The A's Are In!

As I walk though to door I hear the light chime of the bell alerting the barista's someone has just walked in. One smiles and welcomes me as I order a Carmel Macchiato and go to sit down in my usual place by the window on the opposite side of the cafe. I people watch as I wait for my macchiato to be ready. A few minutes later my drink is set down the cup making a slight chime as it hits the saucer as it is set on the wood table. I hand two dollars to the male barista and thank him, as he walks away he flashes a bright smile my way before turning back around and going to help the next customer. I take a quick sip of my coffee and then reach into my bag to pull out my laptop.

I continue working on an essay for school. I had started it earlier this morning after I returning back to the dorm from my 9 am class. I got a good two hours in before I decided to head back to campus.

I step into my dorm room only to see my roommate gone. I sigh and put my bag down walking down the hall to my best friends dorm. I let myself in and see Alicia spooning out peanut butter from the jar and shoving into her mouth. She looks up when she sees me and quickly put the peanut butter away.

"I'm I interrupting something?'"

I ask as she shakes her head. Her mouth still full of sticky peanut butter. Once shes done she says:

"We should go out tonight!"

I sigh "Why tonight Licia?"

"Cause its Saturday night. and you refused to go with me yesterday! Come on Aria. Have some fun for once!"

"I have tons of fun!" I respond

"Really?" She said poping an eyebrow. "When's the last time you went to a club or flirted with a guy?" She asked

I looked down at my feet sighing. "Fine I haven't in a while." I said "But-"

"No buts!" Alicia responded. "You need to go out and have some fun! Stop by later and we'll go out."

"We'll see." I said leaving and walking back to my dorm.
