Interviews and Optimism

Finally the plane arrives and I go as quickly as possible to the plane, I give the flight attendant my ticket and she directs us to where we were seated. I sit down  and breath a sigh of relief.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so happy that we made it on the plane." I exclaim so relieved that I still had a chance.

"Well me and Lauren are gonna get some sleep , and I suggest you do too." Alex says as he drifts off to sleep.

"I will, will don't worry!" I reply.

As soon as they get to sleep I open my phone to see Lilly's vlog, it was the only way I could know if she left NYC yet..
"Oh no..." I said loud enough for wake up, "What?" Alex asks.
"She left."
"What are we gonna do?" Lauren asks
"Off to New Jersey..."

Lilly

I pack my bags in my hotel room, getting ready to go to New Jersey. I was pretty excited because the New York crowd was phenomenal. After getting my bags me and Kyle made our way out the door to our car. I realized that I had an over the phone interview on the ride to New Jersey. Great! Just another interview that takes up valuable nap time.

I shake it off, the time was 9.15 my interview was in 15 minutes.
I was contemplating on wether to   take a much needed nap or stay awake  and not be groggy for the interview. I made the though decision to stay awake. Kyle tried his best to keep me awake, but it didn't seem like anything was gonna work. I could feel my eyes slowly closing and then...

RING! RING! I immediately come up as if somebody scared to heck out of me. 
"WHAT THE...." I yell at the top of my lungs having just woken up from what could've been the nap of my life, Kyle points at my phone.

"Hello?" 
"Yes! Is this Lilly Singh?"
"Sure is! 
"Well Hi,I'm Linda from the New York Times just here to talk to you about you're new book." 
"Wow! It's such an an honor to be interviewed by you guys!" I say curious as to why the NY Times wanted to interview ME.

"You are currently on our up and coming lists for those who have potential to be on our prestigious bestsellers list!" 
"Great!" I answer very out of life because of the amount of sleep I have been getting." 
The rest of the interview went pretty well until this happened...

"So how has it been going in  2nd your second world tour? Any emotions running high?" 
"Obviously it's been stressful, but at the same time it's been great, I mean the fans really show me why I make YouTube videos for a living." 

"Has there been anything missing, or out of place do you think on this tour?"
There was a long pause, I didn't know how to answer, how was I supposed to answer? The word Missing stayed in my mind, I didn't know what to do.

"NOTHING IS MISSING OKAY?!" I say and hang up the phone right after, Kyle looks at me as if he just witnessed a murder. 

"Are you okay?" 

I don't respond just layed back and closed my eyes, the word missing keeps popping up in my head...

We got a from Alex's cousin in New York, and we bang our drive New Jersey. 
"How long is it gonna take?" Asked Lauren
"Anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 Hours" I replied

"Great!" Lauren said in excitement "I would've slept on the plane but with all stress of the current situation.
Alex being the good friends he is, decided to stay up with me. As soon as Lauren was sound
asleep Alex asked,
"So what's the plan?"
"What do you mean what's the plan? I ask dumbfounded at his question.

"Well, were driving to New Jersey with no money, and from me and Lauren's perspective no
plan whatsoever." I didn't think that way, all this time my mind was set on nothing but Lilly,
that I completely shut Alex and Lauren's opinions.
"Well first of all I got my credit card so money will be the least of our worries."

"As for the plan, our goal is to get to a hotel near the book Lilly is presenting at, and
hopefully make it in."
Alex nodded in agreement, now that we had that out of the way it was time to book a hotel
for the night.

Alex founded where Lilly was doing her show at, and we booked a hotel. I was
so happy and optimistic I couldn't wait to see Lilly.
"Fousey you hear something?" Alex asked looking at the car in the back.

"No?" I answered, but as soon as I saw the flashing red and blue lights reflect on me I knew
this couldn't be real.
WEE!! OOO! WEE! OOO! The police car made as it pulled closer to us.

"Please pull over!" The police said through their intercom thing, I didn't have a good
reputation with police officers so I simply abided by what he said. After I pulled over Lauren
woke up to having red and blue lights fill our car.

"What happened?" Then she turned back "YOUSEF I SWEAR TO GOD!" Lauren screamed
as the police officer walked up to my window.
"What is it officer?" I asked trying to be somewhat polite
"You were driving at 95 in a construction zone, I'm gonna have to give you a ticket for that
sir."

"Okay, for how much?"
"500$" the officer replied, I have him my driver's license and registration, as well as my credit
card so that I could pay the fine then and there. After that we drove safely and without tickets the rest of the way. The time was 6:30 pm so the only question was were we gonna make it on time.
