"She isn't healthy enough to endure the process of aborting the child," the doctor tells him. He looks shocked.
"What do you mean?" he questions, his voice calm. She can see the anger flaring in his eyes, but there was also concern held there.
"First off, she's too skinny," the doctor lies smoothly, "That increases the risk of complications during the procedure. Second, she has a genetic disorder that she must've inherited from her mother. Her uterus walls are quite thick, thicker than normal, and it's possible that she'll need surgery to get it fixed. But it would have to wait until after the child is born, due to the first complication."
He nods and takes her hand.
"Thank you Doctor," he bows then leaves, pulling her gently behind him.
"I'm sorry Kai," she whispers once they are in the car, "I swear, I didn't know."
"I believe you babe," he answers shortly. She takes a deep breath.
"What are we going to do now?"
He turns to her, then gives her a grin.
"I'll tell you another time. For now, let's go get food."
