We were in one of the most sumptuous restaurant of Los Angeles. She was in front of me with her breathtaking beauty. A purple dress was hugging her fit body and her lips were coated with a nude lipstick. Her hair looked natural and it rested on her shoulders. She was beautiful. The beauty which she owned cannot be captured in any camera.

"Let me get straight to the point," she spoke as if she was my boss," I can't marry you. Dad's stupid if he thinks this is going to work out. Because clearly I am not interested in you."

"Well, I don't want to marry you either." Who knew it was going to be this easy? I did not have to make any efforts for her to hate me.
"So, you aren't like those men who run behind a pretty girl with money?" The girl that I already was sick of was questioning my character. More reasons for me to hate her.

"If I was behind money I would marry you in the blink of an eye. But I am waiting for my true love." However she was, I don't want to be rude to her.

"Boy you seem so cheesy. What type of girl would even marry you?" Rolling her eyes, she took a swig of her red wine.

She had already crossed the line but I will be nice to her. No matter how much she abuses me. Because after all she is a woman and I can't hurt her.

"Kate, that's none of your concern. You should be worrying about your father."

The aroma of the food in front of me was mouth watering but I did not feel hungry anymore. However, Kate was chewing her food, barely paying attention to me.

"Why should I think of him?" She wiped her hands with a tissue and looked at me intently.

The atmosphere was getting tense. I feel intimated by her. But still I have to get over with this as soon as possible.

Choosing my words wisely I spoke," He cares for you. Can't you see how much he loves you? He surely has done a lot for your future and you should think about him too. He simply wants to see you happy. Don't do anything to hurt him, Kate." I saw her eyes soften a bit but the very next second they turned cold.

No one opened their mouth and we kept looking at each other for few minutes. I couldn't make out what exactly she was thinking but I knew for sure that I said something wrong.

"You can't fucking tell me how to treat my dad. You don't even know the monster inside him. That man did not even show up at my mother's funeral. How do you expect me to respect him?" Anger was laced in her voice and she looked so annoyed. I shouldn't have said anything about her personal life. Damn it Ethan! You screwed it.

"If that's the case then why did you come back to LA? Why do you still want him? Why did you ask for his forgiveness? Why did you agree to marry any guy that he chooses?" Even though I shouldn't be interfering in her life, I kept on asking her questions. She should at least have answers to these questions.

Instead of answering my question she replied coldly, "I'm not answerable to you, Ethan."

Arguing would not help so I decided to go along with her. "Yeah right. I'm sorry for meddling in your business." I did not expect her to forgive me but she did, by smiling.

"Do you want to go for a walk? Maybe we could have some yoghurt?" At the name of yoghurt her eyes sparkled and she excitedly got up to leave.

Around the corner of next street, we sat on an empty bench with frozen yoghurt. There were less vehicles and people in this area. We were getting along really well. She opened up a bit and talked about her favorite moments with her friends. Maybe she is not that bad and bitchy.
