"Cccrrrreeeaaakkkk"

I turn my head. Where did that sound come from? I decide not to think more of it and turn back to my homework.

"Crreeeaaakkkk"

Okay that's it. I stand up and go to close my door when suddenly...

"Raaawwwwrrrr!!!"

"Aaahhhhhhaahhh!!!"

"Haha got you again sis." Sometimes my older brother can be a real dick.

"Not funny Jack. I was trying to finish my homework."

"Seriously?" He gave me this 'you're joking' look.

"What?" I give him a questioning look.

"It's winter break! Give homework a rest, enjoy yourself."

I squint my eyes at him. Does he really think that I, Rosemarie Salvador, am going to give school a break? Who does he think I am?!

"You do realize who you're talking too, right?"

He looks at me. "Yeah you're right. I mean you're no fun anyways"

Hey! I know school is my top priority but I can still be fun.

"Oh yeah?" I respond

"Yeah." He gives me a daring look.

"I can be fun."

"Prove it." He tells me, mischief gleaming in his eyes.

"How?"

"You won't do school work for the rest of break."

I stare at him intently for a minute.

"You're right, I am no fun." I turn around and make my way back to my room.

"C'mon Rose, live a little."

"I am living. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a date with my AP Calculus homework." And with that I walk away.

* an hour later*

I'm sitting in my room currently reading a book called To All the Bright Places, when my brother Jackson rudely interrupts it with his shouting.

"Hey sis I'm going out with the guys, wanna come with?"

"No thank you." I shout back.

"I'll buy you frozen yogurt..."

"I'll be down in 5 minutes!!" I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for frozen yogurt.

*at frozen yogurt place*

"Do you think I can marry frozen yogurt?"

"Maybe... I really don't know"

I keep staring lovingly at my frozen cookies and cream yogurt, until I hear the bell ring at the door.

"Hey guys, over here." My brother signals a group of guys towards right where we're sitting.

Huh, that's why we sat in this big booth. I look up at the group, and whoa. I mean I know they're basketball players, but damn. One in particular caught my eye. He had brown hair, styled kind of messy but he made it work. He also had blue eyes, so blue like I was staring at the ocean itself. He had a pretty regular build, but was still pretty muscular judging by his biceps. I had never seen him before when I hung out with the guys back then. Maybe he's new to the team?

I think he saw me looking at him because next thing you know, he sent a wink my way. I try to play dumb and pretend I didn't see it, so I got my phone out. I find myself scrolling through tumblr when the guys approach our booth.
