Reawakened

Rin sat on the bed on the opposite end, watching me sleep. It was really late at night, but he didn't care. I had been asleep for hours, longer than normal. He touched his own stomach where a wound had been, a stab he had taken from Noihous in the stomach during an earlier fight. I had been asleep for two days, and most of my wounds had healed, the more severe ones having been tended to when Yukio brought me back. He looked at the desk next to the bed, the white key glinting in the moonlight. Shiemi had helped to tend to my wounds when I was awake, but now that I was asleep if they were in the room, they had to be quiet due to my enhanced hearing. I was also a very light sleeper unless I was tired. Then I just slept for a long time. He got up and walked over to the other end of the bed, crouching down and crossing his arms, putting them on the mattress and putting his chin on them, letting his head roll to the side.

Yukio walked into the room, keeping his voice low. "You should get some sleep."

My ear twitched and he stood up. "Yeah, okay." The two of them left the room, unaware that I knew exactly what was going on. I smiled, falling into a deeper sleep.

The next morning

I stretched, aware that I was alone. I slid out of bed, looking at myself in the mirror. My outfit was horrid, I was still slightly scratched up, and I had a permanently different colored eye now that I was chosen as Draco's host. She may not always be there, but when she is, the key doesn't matter anymore. I stripped myself of the tank, burning it. I looked at my torso. There were scars, evidence of the presence of the scales that had been there, and I guess I lost my werewolf form as well as the three black stripes. I looked at myself, then attached the key around my neck, putting on a choker with my father's mask as a miniature charm. I turned around. There were points sticking up from my spine that were just barely visible, but could easily pierce the skin and become real if I had to. I sighed and stretched again, feeling one of the spines at the base of my skull and along the back of my head until about halfway up. My ears were permanently pointed as well. I slipped one of the rings onto my middle finger, then pulled on my black lion shirt, one of the sleeves long, the other like a tank. Thankfully, it was the left sleeve that was like that so I could keep my arm covered. I put earbuds in, leaving one out. I picked up my guitar, playing ignite by Zedd, singing the lyrics.

However, I was cut short. Go find Rin and Yukio. They might need you to help with Kuro.

I smiled. "They're stupid." I set it down, careful to keep my head down and my arms covered, my newfound tattoo on my left arm on the back burner as I found a bunch of dragoon exorcists with their guns aimed at a monstrous Kuro. I heard the cat's voice as I had heard it many times before.

Liars! Shiro was the most powerful one of all!  He was just upset because Shiro had died. I swallowed thickly. He had died because of me. I had devoured his soul in order to send Satan directly back to the demon world, the only other options having to either let Satan kill him, kill himself, or have the unconscious exorcists somehow send him back which was impossible.
