13 March 2016:
'Is that really you Bhaskar?' asked Emily.'I knew you would come someday, these people have locked me here, they say I am safe here but I have longed for you for so long, where were you all this time? I missed you so much.' The empty room echoed with the sound of her voice.
Outside, it was raining heavily, and the aroma of the earth blew in through the skylight of the cell.
Emily sat in one corner of the cell, she could hear the sound of the rain, the sound of the rain drops hitting against the walls of the Asylum. She stood up, and walked towards the iron bars of her room.Trying to look through the darkness into the corridor,
'I know you are here Bhaskar, I know you have come.' shouted Emily.
Her voice echoed through the empty corridor, the sound fading away in a distance.
A shadow lurked in the darkness of the corridor, his steps could be heard, whoever it was he wasn't new to this place, nor was he anxious, his movements depicted confidence. The shadow stopped infront of cell number 7, took out a bunch of keys from his back pocket and opened the cell's iron bars. 'Your dinner' said the shadow in a deep grave voice. To Emily the voice was similar, somewhere she had heard this, a long time ago, perhaps. 'Are you going to stay for dinner?' asked Emily cheerfully, but the shadow didn't even respond, he turned back went outside the cell and locked it.'Please, please don't leave, my lover Bhaskar will be here soon, come have dinner with us.' insisted Emily. But the shadow moved emotionlessly, without uttering a sound  into the darkness until he faded into it, only sound that was heard was of his heavy breathing through his nostrils.
That night the food was surprisingly good,by asylum standards. There was something about it, Emily couldn't comprehend, 'Come here, honey, else I will eat it up all alone' said Emily playfully, looking into the concrete walls of the room.
The next morning, Emily Roy the patient, who had been there in that cell for the last decade, was found dead on her bed,she had overslept herself to death. There was a chaos amidst the thirteen working officials there, the police were informed, on the main land, who arrived at island in the afternoon, they were greeted by the medical reports handed to them by Dr. Podolsky , the only doctor present in the vicinity.
The medical report stated:
'A clear case of Myocardial infraction caused due to utter depression.'
'Who provided dinner for miss Roy?' asked head inspector Ghosal.
None actually knew anything about it, for it was raining heavily last night and all the staff had reported to their respective quarters, it was impossible for anyone to go from the quarters to the cells last night, amidst the hail storm.
'Where was the food made?' inspector Ghosal further enquired.
A complex, ashtonised expression prevailed upon all the staff members.
An awkward silence, similar to the one of last night.
