Terry continued to walk along side the road towards the direction that he had seen a faint glow from the night before. He had been walking for over a day and at that point and was getting very hungry. As he reached the top of a small hill he could finally see the town itself. It sat atop a large hill on the edge of the mountains with river that ran right by it. At the very top, Terry could make out scaffolding around what looked like a castle. The people must have been doing repairs of some sort. With hopes of finding food, he dug down deep for some energy and ran the rest of the way to town. As he made it to the edge of the city, he saw how historic it really was. Several battlements were strewn all over the town along with a few watchtowers. Terry sauntered down the main street looking at the signs of shops hoping for a restaurant or café. He then stopped when he realized he had no money. Terry looked to the sky hoping for a deal of some sort from one of the shops. He continued down the cobblestone road until he spotted a dessert shop that had some free samples. He quickly hurried over, not believing his luck. It wasn't the best thing for him to eat, especially on an empty stomach, but at least it was something. He walked inside. A few people were in there already. He then walked up to the counter. A cute old lady was standing there.
"What would you like, dearie?" she asked.
"What are some of your free samples?"
"We have three different kinds," She told him. "We have Strawberry Rhubarb, Lemon Pudding Cake, and Peach Cobbler."
"They all sound delicious," Terry admitted. "But I think I'll try the Peach Cobbler sample, please."
"Fine choice, dearie. One Peach Cobbler sample coming right up." she bent down and opened the display case and grabbed the dessert from the small sample shelf that was nestled in the corner. She then set it on the counter, pushing it towards Terry. "There you are, dearie."
"Thank you."
"You're very welcome."
Terry took his dessert and walked over to the corner booth by the window and sat so his back was against the wall. He grabbed his for and cut his first piece off. He then took a bite of his peach cobbler. It tasted as good as it looked, very tasty. Terry's thoughts started to wander as he continued eating. He still had no clue where he was. The town he was in was no help. He saw the sign at the front, Oak Town, but that didn't tell him anything. He had no idea there that was. And there were no mountains where he and his friends originally were, so why there were mountains now confused him even more. Then there was the money issue. He didn't have any. And without money that meant no food or a place to stay. Terry was also worried about Jake and Marek. He hadn't seen them at all, even though it had been over a day already. He wondered where they were. Were they also heading to the nearest town? Was it this one? Maybe they didn't end up here like Terry.
"Is everything good, dearie?" the old lady interrupted his thoughts.
"Yeah, everything's great." Terry replied.
"Now that you've had a taste, would you like the full serving?"
"Oh, um..." Terry reached for his pockets pretending he was going to grab for his money. "Oh man, I'm sorry, madam. I think I forgot my money at home."
"Oh, that's too bad." She stated. "Well at least you know what you like now so come back when you have some money. Okay, dearie?"
"Will do, madam." He agreed. "Hey, is it alright if I stay here a while? I know I don't have money, but I'm enjoying the atmosphere."
"Of course, dearie." She answered. "Besides, it's not very busy in here today anyways. Take your time."
"Thank you.
