Twenty minutes until launch.
I reflect on everything I've ever done. I look back at memories, as they silently fade away into the darkness of Flare headquarters. I always knew the day would finally come when people took a turn for the worse, but I hadn't expected I'd hold back so much. My emotions had made me soft... not something you'd look for in a strong leader.
I hadn't realized I was staring until the doors burst open with a very loud bang. Five people emerged from the dust, running toward the center of the room. I recognized them as Trevor, Tierno, Shauna, Calem and Yvonne. I most definitely was not in the mood to deal with them. But, as usual, I pulled through. Taught them a little something to wake them up to the age they're living in. A horrible one.
As soon as Yvonne's mouth opened to protest, it was interrupted by the sound of running footsteps. Grunts turned their attention to the figure very rapidly approaching Yvonne and the others. He shouted my name with more rage than I thought was humanly possible. All of a sudden I knew who it was, with those familiar curls of midnight black and his coat billowing behind him.
I knew when he stopped in front of me, that ooh. I was in for a beating.

"Lysandre..! This... is madness! Stop this... right... now!" I was utterly exhausted but who gives a shit? Not me! What I do care is about is his welfare, and the world's welfare! I was not just going to give up on this place that easily!
"August, you're not going to stop me. This is what I'm doing. Like I told you, things have gotten so much worse. I will fix everything, wether you like it or not." I could feel my hand clenching into a fist. He just kept on talking, all about things I've heard before. 'People are cruel!' 'This needs to end!' 'I'll rid the world of this, no exceptions!'
"ENOUGH!" Before I realized what was happening, I heard the sickening thud of my fist hitting his jaw, leaving him groaning in pain. Everyone looked at me in shock. If I were someone else, I would look at me the same way. He looked at me with a hurt expression, then turned to Yvonne and Calem.
"Hm. I know why you're here. Well- hah!- it's too late. The ultimate weapon has finally risen above the soil." He chuckles quietly. "All hope is lost. Go downstairs and see for yourself!" Yvonne gives him a "Hmph" look and trudges downstairs, the rest following. As soon as they're gone, I look him straight in the eyes, attracting the attention of several Grunts and Admins. Lysandre simply waves them off, to which they respond by returning to their business.
"Why do you want to stop me? We both know that I can't stand this place, being the way it is." I didn't understand why he spoke in a hushed whisper; we're in a room full of genocidal maniacs. Why not announce your opinions, hm?
"I know you can't stand it. I know you think all hope is lost, but it isn't! Think about Pokémon. They are absolutely wonderful creatures. Helping humans, even loving them. Look at your Pyroar. You claimed that humans are horrible and cannot be trusted, so how come Pyroar chose you? And your parents. They lived in this world, too. Do you think that they would have sacrificed their lives to save their son if people weren't different?" He stands there, looking concerned. We stand there for quite a while, everyone staring at us, until he grabs my hand and looks me in the eyes.
"Think, August. Only some are different. Some hunt Pokémon to the brink of extinction, some are making the worst decisions possible, the rest are killing each other. I've tried so many times to convince people to change their ways, but not once did it work. Only some are different, and beautiful. People like you. And they will be protected... at all costs."

I toss the Pokéball in my hand, feeling the slightest bit of emotion. What is this? Happiness? An emotion I haven't felt in some time. I was... ecstatic. The mighty Yveltal, resting patiently in my hand until the moment it would be sent out for battle. I've never felt so powerful in my ten years of living. Professor will praise me for this! I could feel the power draining out of the weapon. I've done a good thing.
But just when I headed for the door, Lysandre had to get in my way. He said he needed to take back the Legendary Pokémon for the weapon, and tried to do so through battle. It took some time, but I eventually defeated him.
"Ah-!! H-how...?!" He growled in anger. "Ugh. The Pokémon may be disconnected, but I can still show you what the weapon can do!" And with that, a loud boom shattered the silence, echoing from just outside the base. I could see it on the screen. The weapon ravaging Geosenge, destroying the beautiful stones that once lined the fences. Houses were obliterated, and I can't say much more for the people inside. All the while, Lysandre stood in the corner, smirking. He was enjoying this. Asshole. But when it ended, the place started to crumble.
As if remembering something, Lysandre dashed out of the room, taking with him the Pokèball of a newly restored Pyroar. Apparently the Admins had kept Professor captive for a while, but only until Lysandre got back. He told Pyroar to let Professor... get onto his back. He also sent out his Honchkrow to collect the remaining people of our group, gathered on its back, ready to fly. He nodded, and without as much as a cry Honchkrow took off, with us on it. He then smacked Pyroar's rear, causing it to take off toward the exit, taking Professor with him. I could see Professor's sad face, not willing to leave him behind. He shouted his name over and over, to which he only replied in a whisper,
"I'm so sorry."
Reaching the ground, we all jumped off terrified, watching the place crumble with dozens of people inside. Professor fell to his knees with a whimper, tears streaming down his face. Poor Professor. I would never break his heart, ever. But it was his fault for loving a villain.
