What the heck do I say?! I look ate Emmie for anything but she just shrugs her shoulders. I have no idea what to do. I don't want to tell him it's his but he deserves to know. Just then, his phone rings. He answers it.
"Hello? Um sure, I'll be right there. Ok bye."
He hangs up and I feel instantly relieved. I almost told him. Which wouldn't be bad but I was just scared. He turns to me.
"Hey, listen, the boys want me to hang out with them so I have to go now. It was fantastic seeing you again and it was nice to meet Lucy. Um, I'll call you and maybe we can catch up tomorrow?",he said quickly. I laughed.
"Sure thing Niall. It was nice to see you too! And yes we should definitely catch up tomorrow. Here's your drink. Have a great day!" I said.
"Bye Da- Niall!", Lucy almost said Daddy but she stopped herself. That was so close! I look at Emily and share that 'omg' look with her.
"Bye sweetie! I'll see you tomorrow!" he said.
Maybe he didn't hear what Lucy said. Thank god. He waves goodbye and walks out of the store while drinking his coffee. I tickle Lucy's tummy a bit and set her down. She laughed then ran off towards the front door and greeted more customers.
I continue taking people's orders but I can't stop thinking about what just happened. What a crazy day and its not even lunch yet! Thank god Niall didn't hear what Lucy almost said.
*Niall's POV*
