A New Student (five)

"How the fuck did you get my number?" I asked angrily, leaning on the counter. Maisie looked at me weirdly before ushering me out of her house. "Hello? Are you still there?" I asked, walking towards my car.

"Yeah, I am. I have my sources." She said, I could almost hear her smirk in her voice. I rolled my eyes and hanged up. I got in my car and drove home.

When I got home, I looked in my purse and found the paper with the cashiers name on it. I debated on whether or not I should call her or not. Fuck it. I dialed her number carefully double checking the number every five seconds to make sure I didn't call the wrong number. 

She picked up in a matter of seconds, "Hello?" She asked. Her voice was muffled and hard to hear as I heard heavy music blasting in the background. 

"Uh hi," I yelled over the phone, making sure she can hear me. 

"Hey, who is this?" She yelled back. I could hear shuffling and a door opening, and the music drowned out.

"It's the girl who knocked your stuff over at the grocery store," I said shyly. I heard her giggle.

"Oh hey. I didn't catch your name," she said quieter. I'm guessing she moved to a quieter place so she could hear me, cute.

"It's Emeri. I didn't catch yours either." I said. She giggled again,

"I had a name tag, dumbo." She said in a sassy manner. I instantly frowned and didn't say anything. "Hey, hey. I was just kidding Emeri."  I instantly felt better. "Uh, well. I got to go. It was nice talking to you. Maybe we could meet up tomorrow or something?" She said quickly. 

"Uh, yeah. Sure!" I said happily. She giggled again. What is up with her and giggling? I hung up and laid down on my bed and sighed.

"Students, please welcome Hayden Sophies. She's a new transfer student from Richford. Please introduce yourself, Hayden." Mrs. Crawford said. I zoned out the talking, idly doodling in my notebook. I heard bits and pieces of what was going on, but what caught my attention was my name.

"-you can sit next to Emeri over there. Emeri please raise your hand." My eyes widened, as I slowly raised my hand, keeping my head and eyes on my desk. I heard the new student shuffling through the isles trying to get to where I was seated, which was in the second to back corner. She pulled out the chair and gasped.

"Oh, hey! Lucky we meet again, right?" She said removing me from my thoughts. I looked to my right and saw the same girl at the grocery store. I blushed. I heard a low growl from behind me and saw Ciara glaring hard at Hayden. Hayden didn't seem to notice. She put a hand on my shoulder despite Ciara's obvious displeasure. "You okay? You look a bit red there." She teased. I shrugged off her hand and shook my head.

After another boring class, I was being shoved into the janitors closet by a hard but soft push. I screamed and thrashed around,

"GET THE HELL OFF ME YOU PERV-" I yelled but stopped when a hand went over my mouth, I bit hard at the mouth. I heard a loud whine. I reached for the wall and found the light switch. When my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw Ciara holding her hand.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry." I said quickly. She shook it off. She was wearing a simple outfit, but still looking gorgeous as ever.

"Take a picture, it'll last longer," She said cheekily, flashing me a grin. I blushed. "So," She said, looking down at the ground while I just stood there awkwardly in the small space. "Do you like that new chick?" She said bluntly, continuing to look at the ground.  I chuckled.

"Uh I don't know. She's really pretty, nice, smart," I listed.

"Okay, okay," Ciara stopped me, with a sudden look of sadness on her face. She wiped it off quickly and put on a confident face. "She doesn't seem like much competition," She mumbled. She kissed me on the lips quickly before exiting the closet, leaving me alone.

I was sitting on my bed at home studying when my phone rang.

"Hey Emi!" I heard Maisie's loud voice boom through the phone.

"What do you want?" 

"There's a party at Grayson's tonight in an hour. It's going to be so fun! Everyone's going to be there!" She said excitedly. I sighed.

"Ugh, you know there's school tomorrow right?"

"Uh yeah but girl! Hayden the new girl is going to be there!" She said, that grabbed my attention.

"Ugh, fine. I'll come. Pick me up in an hour and a half."

"Yay!"
