If I wanted all the world in the palm of my hand,
I could have had it, all sea and land
And if I had wanted the heavens too,
At my command the firmament moved
My smallest whim was actualized
But sadly, I never realized
That nothing lasts and all is fleeting
And soon came the end to mark the beginning.
I was stripped of all luxuries
And immersed deep in misery
All I had known soon disappeared
And the fog in my head; the cold air cleared
I had nothing, I was poor
Ten times over and a little more
Led into the world, well, more like shoved
I realized I was never loved
Those around me merely loved money
And once it was gone, I was scurvy
Spat at, laughed at, yelled at
By the same people I had given my heart
I'd survive though, I'm a fighter
I certainly hope the future is brighter.
