Rain poured down with even mire force as he fumbled down the lane.

Sirens were behind him. He was desparate.

How did it come to this? A few days ago he was a beloved celebrity, a man about to get married to his supposed sweetheart. A man who had almost everything.

But now he was being chased as a common criminal, even though he was innocent.

He stumbled into the back of a building when he saw rickety stairs leading to a door. The stairs swayed as he climbed up. Was he gonna die fallung down? He tried not to look down. His fear of heights was catching up.

Somehow he reached the door.

He tried the door. It was open. Which abysmal fool left their back doors open?

He had no choice. He had to hide. He dove into the cupboard.

He shivered from the cold. His clothes were stuck to his skin. The same clothes he had been wandering about for 3-4 days. His stomach growled and his head spun.

That was when he heard the door swing open.

"I dont believe the nerve! She was taunting us! More like taunting you!" The rant went on.

She sat on the chair with her hand plopped on the table as she watched amused.

Her friend was raving and spitting curses.

"Its not like I care. We always knew she was a tad on the taunt side. Its no biggie." She grinned when she recieved the glare.

"No bigge? No biggie? Who is she to say that she feels sorry she is getting married???"

She shrugged unperturbed. It was not a big deal afterall. She was not ready for marriage.

She was still looking for the right guy and somehow....it seemed she couldnt find him.

Besides.... Most guys would find it difficult to live with her. She was a free spirit.

"Dont you gave duty now?" She spoke up to her raving friend who panicked.

"Oh! I forgot! I have the graveyard shift. I better hurry." She rushed to the front door.

"Chao!" She smiled and locked the door after her friend.

She stretched. She too was exhausted which was why she was grateful for the post duty offs.

She entered her room and frowned. She was an idiot! She had left the back door open. She locked it and was about to drop onto her bed when the bell rang.

Muttering curses under her breath she opened the door.

A police officer stood there with another who in plains clothes, someone she knew.

"Yes?" She asked raising a brow.

"I'll handle this. Ria, did someone enter you house anytime?" He asked.

"I dont think so. Why?" She asked confused.

"Yamada Ryosuke, you know, the suspect behind the murder that took place 4 days ago,  he escaped prison and while chasing him, thw police suspect that he entered one of the flats here." The police officer said calmly.

"Geez Sora... You know he couldn't gave come in here. Using those stair are like a call to commit suicide besides.... If he was here, would you think I might have informed you?" She cocked her head.

"No. Because you believe him to be innocent you might hide him, I know you too well." He frowned.

She rolled her eyes and sighed.
