Wow. Here is how I am going to end. Dropping of a 12 story building. Its all because I stopped to smell the roses. Yep. Kids, never smell roses. It leaves you hanging off a ledge like I am. About to die. Wait. I think I got ahead of myself. Let's go back 2 weeks ago, when I thought I actually had a small, normal-ish life.
It was my turn for dragon duty. We get attacked about once a month, which is devastating to our trading and things. It also leaves a few dead or abducted every time. The dragons come for someone, someone who was worthy. They have to look at everyone on earth through their third eyelid to see who it is.We have already gotten attacked this month, but the army says we have to always be vigilant. As I watched the skies from the watchtower, I saw a blast of purple fire and smoke. I ran to the giant bronze bell that was hanging from the sloped ceiling. Everyone screamed and ran to the underground bunkers. I jumped over the railing and landed on the school roof. I ran across the shingles so I could make it in time. "No!", I yelled as the 6 foot wide bunker door closed shut. The door was bolted. And I was going to be burnt and eaten by a dragon.
