It was eighth grade year, 2014. A girl, who had lived in the same place her whole life, still struggled to find her place in this world. Her black, wavy hair went down to the middle of her back. Her fair skin and hazel eyes were mesmerizing. Along with this beauty, a frown was shown on her face. Why? Because, she knew that she was unloved and unwanted in her school and at home.
The students of Sailboat Junior High thought this stunning girl stood out; but, not in the good way. The boys would flirt with her as a joke because they thought that she was too easy. The girls at school were harsh as well. And that, was only the half of it. A drunk mom and a bratty sister were waiting for her at home. So, Locked away in her room she stayed. To be stuck with her thoughts, the majority of the time.
Sometimes, she didn't understand why her life was worth much in general. 'You're used to being alone' her brain would whisper. 'But it's ok, because I'm here.' It would then tell her the "bright sides" of being by herself.
"I can finish lunch faster instead of talking and wasting time. I don't have to hear about someone else's problems, considering I already have enough of those myself. Plus, I can focus on my art and education so I can go to college and finally leave this place." she said aloud these, what she called blessings, while counting on her fingers. But behind her locked door, silent sobs were heard. She knew that this year would pass by like nothing with no one to come save her from this web of sorrow and loneliness.
Or, so she thought.
