"Ahh, a woman that can cook I see!" Miles said as I washed his plate. I knew inviting him over was a good idea, I was a little wavy about it before. Growing up I never did feel comfortable just inviting people to my house, or going over to other people's. My home is like my own little temple, and I hate feeling invaded.
"I see you weren't expecting that!" I chuckled as I wiped my hands free of the mixture of soap suds and water. Right when I was walking out of my kitchen, I heard a someone blow their horn outside. I looked out my window and they were gone. I wanted to know who it was, and me being the person I am, I pondered on it for a moment. A really deep voice brought me out of my thought process. I almost forgot about Miles..
"'I'm sorry, were you expecting someone? I'll leave if you need me to-". "UM, NO I WASN'T!" I cut him off a little more hurried and louder than I intended. This seemed to make him laugh a little. "Would I be lying if I said you REALLY want my company?" I sat on the couch next to him and threw a pillow at him. "Shut up, because you would be lying!" We both laughed, his laugh being sincere, mine shaking off the awkward truth. I don't know why, but I feel some type of weird attachment to him already. I hope this is normal.
The rest of the night was really mellow. We talked about our childhood, and he even asked me how I met Keith Jr and Princess. He gave me a feel of his childhood. How he moved to America from Uganda with his mother and father when he was about 7. He told me how his mother and father only had fifteen dollars in American money, him, and eachother. I love a dude with morals. He didn't try to move on me. We had a really good time and when he got ready to leave, he gave he a tight hug. I inhaled his cologne and it drove me insane. I love a sweet smelling man, not to soft, not to strong. I just wanted to stop him and strip him right there but I held my composure.
"I'll see you later, my nzuri nyeusi mungu" Not knowing what that meant, but knowing it was his native language, I grinned hoping it was something sweet. I walked him to his car and he drove off, leaving me to think to myself. Realizing how late it was I jumped in the shower and studied for the rest of the night. I have 3 classes in the morning. I wanted to call Princess and see how she was doing, but I saw how late it was and decided to just go to sleep.
*The Following Day*
After my morning classes I decided to drop by Keith Jr. house. I bet he in there knocked out, so I used my key that was originally for emergencies, but I use it whenever I want to. When I got inside I went straight to his room and opened the door to see him and Princess sprawled out on the bed, him at the head and her at the foot. How cute. I conjured up a funny idea. I went to his kitchen and got the biggest pot I could find, filled it with water, went upstairs and poured it on them. They woke up looking shocked! I dropped the pot and ran in his bathroom. I knew they were right behind me when I heard bamming on the door. I love my friends..
