The Beginning of the End
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I was staring right at her. I heard the screams and and felt the red liquid flowing down the spaces between my fingers, everything was moving in slow motion. But I got ahead of myself, let me take back to the beginning. Back to the peace I once knew. It was a early morning in January, maybe Monday, Tuesday? I woke up as usual, there she was. My beautiful wife, staring back at me. Her red hair covered her big brown eyes, she smiled our puppy hopped on our bed and I couldn't believe how beautiful she was, how amazing she was.
"Babe", I shuttered in a sleepy voice, "You're gonna be late..." She look back and laughed. "Josh, it's
New Year's Day!"
I was shocked. I guess the night before just took me too far. Gizmo was jumping up and down, his little white paws bouncing back and forth. Just then we heard it, her phone went off. She hopped up in a blaze "Oh my god! Babe! Oh my god! Oh my god!" She fell crying into my shoulders. I looked at her, her eyes said go, but her tears said stay. She rushed up and yelled she had to get dressed. In a panic, I got dressed also. She finally said it. Putting her jacket on she cried and finally told me. Her mother had been rushed to the hospital due to an unknown sickness. Together we grabbed our keys, Gizmo, and rushed to the car holding hands. This was the Beginning of the end.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was no going back
We rushed down the highway. Gizmo was yelping, was he scared? Could he sense what was going to happen? We dropped him off at the little doggy day care place in the corner. He was just a little puppy, he can't be left alone. We rushed back in. Twenty minutes in. Thirty. Seventy.
"Babe what happened to my mom? Babe, babe I can't breath. Ba-" I squeezed her hand. I felt the
Pain go from her hand to mine. Finally we arrived at the hospital. A blonde nurse greeted us saying we weren't allowed in. Press and media were all around the building. "My mother is in there! I need to go in! Please!"
"Ma'm I'm sorry but I can't let you in. Patient SGH-13 has become sick with a sudden outbreak.
Going in could mean risking your life."
Before we could even respond a woman burst in front of us, pushing the blonde nurse out her way. The nurse yelled for security and big men came grabbing the screaming woman.
"Steven! I need to see him! My son's in there!" The middle age woman yelled.
I was stunned, these men wouldn't let her see her son, how bad was this thing? I looked to Eve, but she was gone. I screamed her name countless times before I saw a rush of red hair fly into the stairway. In the chaos she had ran in. I saw her go with not being able to do anything I panicked. My princess was gone, I needed to get in there. I came this far for my princess, I couldn't let her go, there was no going back.
I told one of the media people that the patient was coming out. Suddenly they all rushed closer to the door almost trampling the woman in search for her son and the blonde nurse. I ran with them, and amongst the crowd I was able to run in the building and as I climbed up floors one by one the crying grew louder and louder until I burst though the door, that's when I realized I was standing in a puddle, I looked at the liquid and fell In shock. "Princess?"

A princess without a Tiara
Eve was standing holding her mother up, she was coughing up blood and Eve was in a silent frenzy.
"Mo....mom....please wake up, mom please....mom....."
I just looked down, it was then when the doctor burst through the door. He looked at us with a scowl "You're not supposed to be here!"
Eve looked up with a devilish look in her eye, "WHERE THE FUCK WHERE YOU?! SHES GONNA FUCKING DIE YOU PIECE OF SHIT you....you...."
I pulled her away. The doctor crouched down and looked at her mother.
"She is dead, but, her pulse is moving, it's a scientific miracle. In a state of coma, but truly gone. What is-"
Suddenly her mother let out a small grunt. He got closer
"Listen. She's not breathing, but her blood is pumping"
He grabbed her face to feel for a pulse, it was gone. Eve cried and looked away falling to my shoulder. Her mother then got up. We all backed away in fear. What was happening? The doctor got close he told her to rest, she looked at him, her eyes were dead gray, yet there she was, perfectly moving. We backed away but the nurse we had seen before locked the door behind us. We yelled for her to open it. Begged and pleaded. But it was too late. We turned around to the sound of chewing. But before we could even look up we felt something roll up to our feet. The doctor's head.
