A Little Help

------------------------------

They smashed and crashed through the windows with brute force. I managed to grab the bat and run towards the back. The woman told me that there was an emergency exit to the side of the building. We ran down the corridor as more and more of the creepers filled the dangerous halls behind us. Suddenly we were cut off by a sudden smash through a window. The creeper crawled in and went to grab us, but when I smashed the bat over his head, it broke in half. He limped closer. We were trapped, in a one way hallway we had no where to go as creepers came at us from both sides. As we stood there panicking, I felt a sudden rush in my shirt pocket.

"Gizmo no!" I yelled as Gizmo jumped out of my pocket of the creepers face. Clawing and scratching Gizmo was being tossed around but managed to stay on. In the heat of the moment the other creepers went to grab Gizmo but I pulled him away in the knick of time. They all fell on to one another and the three of us managed to escape the facility. We ran past a parking lot just filled with creepers and made it back to the car. We were safe, for now. The woman hugged me.

"Thank you, thank you so much." She said with tears filling in her eyes. I moved her blonde hair away from her eyes and said, "I'm Josh."

She let out a faint smile

"I'm Emily".

Family Comes First

------------------------------------

We sat in the car while more and more creepers surrounded us. We had to think of something. She stated that her family was staying in Passaic, a small town not to far from where we were. She asked me for a ride, and since my parents had died years ago and I had no siblings I really had no family besides Eve and Gizmo. I agreed to help her, but in exchange, she had to help me find Eve. She agreed and I pounded on the gas and left tire marks on the creepers faces.

We arrived at a large blue home not long after we left.

"Should I come with you?"

"No, it's my family, I'll go alone."

We hugged.

She had been gone for only five minutes and I was already nervous. Emily was the only person I knew at the moment and the only person who could help me find Eve. She needed to be safe. Gizmo was squirming in his seat after twenty minutes. Finally I had gotten tired of waiting, and went inside the door, locking Gizmo safely inside the car. The house was a wreck, and as soon as I walked in I saw puddles and trails of blood everywhere. I walked in the living room.

"Emily?" I called. No answer.

I went to the kitchen.

"Emily?" No answer.

The bathroom. No answer.

The bedroom. No answer.

No answer.

The only place left to check was the upstairs bedroom. The door was creaked open. Inside I saw Emily kneeling and breathing heavily with a kitchen knife in her hand. A little boy had been eaten from the stomach out and there was an older couple with stab wounds in the heads.

"Emily...........what happened?"

"My brother. The little brat was my brother. Billy. I came up to hear his screams as our parents ate his guts."

"Emily...."

"When I ran to he kitchen to get a knife it was too late. He was gone. I killed my parents. I killed them. That makes four. In one day."

"Emily, come on, it's not safe here."

I grabbed her arm, but she pulled away.

"No, I need to stay. I need to stay with him."

"Emily, he's dead. There's nothing you can do."

She began to cry. Finally I picked her up and told her to close her eyes. She cried all the way back to the car. We managed to obtain some bandages, food, water, and two kitchen knives.

We drove off, away from the house. That was the last I ever heard or saw of Emily's family.
