Joelle POV
"Okay Kali, let's leave." I wore my shades.

I pushed the stroller outside of the house.

I reached for the keys in my purse and locked the front door before leaving. Afterwards, I made a start of walking to the Starbucks which was only 10 minutes away. Today was lovely so I decided on walking instead of driving.

After making it at Starbucks, I stood in the line to order my cup of hot chocolate.

"Hello and welcome to Starbucks, how may I help you?" The young girl smiled.

"Hi, I'll have the hazelnut signature hot chocolate and a green smoothie please?" I replied.

She told me the purse as I dug into Kali's baby bag for some money.

I handed her the money and waited patiently for my drinks then took a seat at a table for 2 as I waited for who I was waiting for. I took a sip of my hot chocolate and the door opened. And in came Jude with a smile on his face.

I rolled my eyes and he took a seat in front of me.

"Wassup?" He asked looking at Kali.

"Hm.." I looked away sipping my drink.

"Here." I slid his green smoothie to the other side of the table.

"C'mon Joelle. Green smoothie, seriously?" He smacked his teeth and rubbed his chin.

"Hey, it's the only thing that was cheap there. Other than water." I looked down.

"So, what did you call me down here for then?" He asked.

"I thought about what you said last time. About us." I put my cup down.

"And?" He sat up straight.

"Jude..I love you so much. It's just..it's just that I ain't ready. I ain't ready to have my heart broken, not again. And I know that I could give you another chance but not right now." I told him straight.

He slowly nodded his head.

"Ight..at least it shows that you care." He played with Kali's fingers.

"I really do.." I nodded my head.

"I hope we can still be friends?" I raised a brow.

"Yeah, Imma be there for you in every step of the way. If you need anything, you can just hit me up." He winked at me and smiled.

I missed his smile..

I thought he was gonna get mad or something but he seemed to understand. And that's what I like about niggas like him. They understand shit whereas people like Jamal, they don't.

But both niggas have something that I like about them.

"You've got a call from-." I heard through the phone.

I hung up and threw my phone to the side.

I kinda felt bad. I know Jamal wanted to see me because I was basically the only person that he has other than his mom who doesn't want to speak to him. I still have feelings for Jamal. He is the father of my child.

Sometimes I just sit and think about us and how we used to love. I just want that again. I'll always love, even if he has my child or not. He was always my first-serious boyfriend. The first guy outside of the family that cared about me before all the crazy shit happened.

"Baby daddy drama?" My hairstylist Clarissa asked.

I nodded my head.

"Ugh, don't even get me started on that shit. Last year, when I was pregnant, I told my baby daddy the news. And guess what he done?" She got started on my hair.

"What?" I looked at her in the mirror.

"He went to get another bitch pregnant!" She rolled her neck.

"See, that's what I don't understand about niggas!" She smacked her teeth.

"Yeah." I nodded my head.

"I got 2 guys that I both love. One's my baby daddy and the other was an ex after him. Before my baby daddy went to jail, they'd always compete with each other to see who's best, which landed them both in hospital with injuries. Broken arms and broken legs. I broke up with Jude because he cheated on me." I sighed.

"So, who's Jude?" She asked.

"The ex and Jamal's the baby daddy?" I rubbed my temples.

"Jamal Jamal? The one that took your photo way back?" She furrowed her brows.

I shook my head.

"I want them back both but I don't know who makes me happy." I sighed.

"Jamal?" She raised a brow.

"He was sweet. I felt like if I didn't get pregnant, we'd still be together. He was so protective and so strong. He'd always say I love you and so did Jude but..I didn't love him as much." I played with my fingers.

Clarissa let go of my hair and folded her arms.

"I think you've found your man." She smirked.

"Oh shit.." I sunk down in my chair.

She began to laugh and start on my makeup.
