Chapter 12: At President Akimoto's Office

Sakura's P.O.V

Lex and I were both on edge as we waited for President Akimoto. I had a sinking feeling about why we were summoned, but my anxiety was off the charts. I was about to ask Lex what he thought when President Akimoto walked in.

YA: Ah! Just the two people I've been wanting to see!

Sakura: Why did you call for us, sir?

YA: About that, I called you here because I have one specific request.

Sakura: {Here it comes!}

YA: I want the two of you to create an album together!

Sakura & Lex: "What!"

YA: You might be wondering why I chose you two. Well, as I was walking past your dressing room, I heard you and Lex singing a duet.

You might be curious about what President Akimoto was referring to and why Lex was unusually quiet. Let me explain with a flashback:

At Sakura's dressing room after the taping for the HKT show.

Sakura: I'm tired!

Lex: Summer after high school when we first met

Sakura: I told you I'm tired. I don't have time for this!

Lex: Just sing. It will make you feel better, I promise!

Sakura: We made out on your Mustang to Radiohead and on my 18th birthday, we got matching tattoos

I didn't realize Akimoto-sensei was walking by.

As for why Lex was quiet, it turns out he was so nervous that he only reacted when Akimoto-sensei delivered the unexpected news.

I voiced my concerns to Akimoto-sensei about how fans might react to us being a love team, but he reassured us that the focus would be on the Philippine and South Korean markets.

Gathering my courage, I decided to reveal our relationship to Akimoto-sensei. To my surprise, he wasn't angry at all.
