in which jennie sits next to the cute girl on the bus.
~
"not again," jennie said to herself as she ran to the bus, not wanting to miss it for the second time that week. she just hated being late in general, you either ended up standing or awkwardly sitting next to some stranger.jennie sighed in relief as she made it into the bus, but that was quickly overcome by the fact that there were no empty seats. she walked down the aisle and finally decided to sit next to a girl who was, oddly enough, attempting to balance a bottle on her shoulder.
it was even odder when jennie's heart fluttered at the cute sight.
she sighed quietly, jennie didn't flustered often, and she didn't want to make this an exception. it's just a girl on the bus that she'll never see again.
at least that's what she thought.
the next time jennie saw her was two days later.
it wasn't jennie who was late this time, it was bus girl. she ran onto the bus, gasping for breath. and like last time, they were sitting next to each other.
it was almost painfully silent, at least for jennie. so she said the only thing on her mind.
"where's your bottle?"
the bus girl jumped, startled at the random question.
"i dropped it while running here." she grinned and jennie found herself doing the same.
"i guess we both have a knack for being late, huh?" both girls laughed. it wasn't long before they were in a full blown conversation, smiling and laughing at the stupidest things.
"so you're telling me that you really tried to make the sos sign so you could get out of work?" jennie wheezed with laughter.
"you'd be correct." the bus girl grinned, showing a lovely heart shaped smile.
the conversation just felt so natural.
jennie only realized she didn't get the bus girl's name when she had already gotten off on her stop.
the third time they met wasn't on the bus at all, it was in the small café jennie worked at.
"can i get a caramel frapp- oh hey you're the bus girl!" the other girl exclaimed when she finally looked up from her phone.
jennie laughed as she realized that they both had the same nickname for each other.
"yeah, that's me. what were you saying before?"
"i'd like one caramel frappé."
"that'll be $2.95. what's your name?" jennie smiled at the convenient question.
"jisoo."
jisoo. it had a nice ring to it. jennie was smiling even wider. god, i probably look like a creep, she thought to herself but continued smiling anyway.
jisoo had already walked away when chaeyoung, jennie's best friend and co-worker, tapped her on the shoulder.
"so who's the girl you got the hots for?" chae smirked mischievously.
"oh my god chae you scared me!" jennie hit her lightly, "and that's just jisoo, i guess."
"i see you haven't denied your feelings yet. perfect!" she grinned as jennie practically lunged at her.
"shut up chaeyoung! i don't like her, i've just seen her on the bus that's all."
"excuses, excuses." the eccentric girl sang as she called jisoo's name.
