A: Well since its only been one person asking questions the whole time, I figured I'd add a bit of juice to it and ask something I'd been wondering myself.
L: Umm, ok?
A: So I was wondering, why is it that you became friends with Light. I mean, wasn't he your number one suspect.
L: I suspected him the most, but when he started helping me solve the case the probability of him being Kira went down considerably. By the time that I knew he was Kira with absolute certainty was the day I died. By then I was friends, and had a few hidden feelings that I didn't want. I couldn't kill him or lock him up with that.
