I'm Abby. And I'm going to tell you about what happened today. So sit back and expect to be surprised by Carla's whacky ways.
Well, I got up extra early. It was a Saturday, and I like to wake up early on Saturdays sometimes, unlike most people.
I grabbed a book I had been reading from my night stand. The book had sucked me in and I was reading every word intently.
I felt a breeze go by. I put my book down for a second, Weird, I thought. But I went straight back to reading.
After a few minutes my hair was blown around. I set my book down and looked around. I felt the breeze coming from behind me, so I looked behind the bed frame and saw my window. It was open.
I hardly ever open my window, so I knew that Carla had snuck in through the window. Again. "Carla!" I shouted. No reply.
I looked around my room suspiciously. I put one foot on the ground and was about to put the other down, looking around cautiously. But just as my second foot hit the ground my mattress went up.
I was slammed up against the bed frame. "Carla!" I screamed. I could hear Carla laughing. Once I got back into a normal position, I saw Carla wearing war paint.
"Carla? What are you doing?" I asked. Carla grew serious. She climbed out from under my bed, the mattress flopping back down on the frame.
Once she got to her feet, she started explaining, "Abby. The 'squirrels' have come." "What?" I asked.
"They're really goblins," She whispered, leaning over to me. "Goblins?" I said, expecting the whacky explanation I was about to get.
"They're trying to defeat the unicorns!" She said, shaking a fist at the sky. Oh, yes. Carla's unicorn obsession.
"We have to stop them, Abby!" She said. "Okay, but what are you doing in my house?" I asked, still puzzled by everything.
"The goblins are disguising themselves as squirrels, and the squirrels are in your house!" She explained.
"What?" I said. "They got in through the window that you forgot to close." She said casually. "Carla! I didn't open it in the first place!"
Carla rolled her eyes. "Anyway, if you want to stop the goblins then we'd better get start-- EEEEEEE!!!" She started spraying Silly String everywhere.
"A goblin has infiltrated our base!" She screamed. A squirrel stood on my desk, looking confused.
"Carla!" I screamed. She stopped spraying the Silly String. She looked at me with rounded eyes, as if she might cry.
"Carla, spraying Silly String won't capture-- defeat-- do anything to the 'goblins!'" I said. Carla considered what I said.
"Okay." She said, and sulked around. But I still had a problem-- there were squirrels running around my house.
