Meanwhile ...
(This chapter is a bit more gruesome so be warned. I say that but it's literally just a bit of stabbing so not too bad.)
(I recommend listening to a piano version of 'Sweet dreams are made of this' or 'Paint it Black' by Ciara)
Amelia was woken by the sun shining in her eyes. She felt a presence in the bed next to her and heard a steady rhythm of breathing. She'd barley even opened her eyes but was smiling just thinking about what she could do today with Bucky.
She turned over to look at the love of her life but the person next to her was not him.
She scrambled out of bed in shock, waking Nat, falling to the floor. While Amelia tried to get her breath it all came flooding back. The breakup, Clints' farm and finally HYRDA getting Bucky. By this point Nat was comforting her on the floor as she broke down in tears.
She was able to keep her emotions under control most of the time, because of years of practice. Remembering is easy, but it's the times when she forgets which are hard.
She felt a dull ache in her stomach, chest and throat that hadn't gone away since she found out that this had happened. She dried her tears and regained what she had left of a hard exterior and prepared for a long day.
"No," She smiled coyly at General Thompson later that day "I just work for some people who are interested in you. So they sent me to talk to you. Is that ok?" She batted her eyelashes and ran the tip of her finger down his arm.
"Of course, of course. Just ask and I will talk." He said nauvchaluntly, waving his hand like he was doing her a favour and enjoying her attention.
Amelia hate the way he just notices her outer-appearance and not whether she was intelligent or kind or not. But little did he know that this wasn't going to end well for him.
A grin took over her face. The man had receding whisps of brown hair and beady brown eyes and had a medium build and and a rat-like face. He was the type of person that when you see them smile it sends shivers down your spine."Nat?" Amelia called from inside the office. Nat entered it and look at her, to anyone else it would looked like she's smiling happily but to Nat it's more of a manic, tight grin.
"Could you watch the door?" She asked her sweetly as Amelia pulled on some black leather gloves.
"What?" The general looked at them in confusion. Nat nodded.
They've been watching this man for that last few days. He is a General for the American embassy based in Berlin who has ties in HYDRA. Amelia had to use quite a few 'favours' as she called them to find him. And she'd told the Avengers helping her she only ever uses her 'favours' in emergencies because they are her protection when she finds out too big of a secret. She walked around the desk so she was stood next to him and knocked him out. Then proceeds to tie his hands and ankles to the chair.
When he woke she spoke to him."You know, Leningrad lies to hurts but not as much as getting stabbed in the leg. So please, don't make me ask twice." Her mouth twisted into a crazed half smile and she pulled a large knife out of a sheath on her thigh under her dress.
"I don't know what your talking about !!! Why are you doing this?" He demanded, still holding on to his façade.
Amelia tutted then spoke.
"I think you do. Are you with HYDRA?" She asked him simply.
